Most people were in for heroin, though. Wow! Pretty sobering being thrown in with heroin addicts in withdrawl OP. Not deminishing what you went threw, but that can really show a person just how bad it can get. Stay strong OP. If a guy like me can do it you can to! 8 years clean & sober and counting (now if could just beat the cigarettes...) at 8.5 years i finally got past the nicotine addiction, that was a bitch, to much to take on all at once. just quit it exactly the way you gave up the others, when you are ready you will do it! |

Most people were in for heroin, though. I see. How much did you drink? Did you drink all day or just for a few hours drinking a bottle of wine? I often drink for a couple hours before I hit the bed. I do need to cut back on the amount of alcohol though. Not sure if I can quit drinking entirely though but I could use a break from it and do a cleansing program for a month or so but that's probably the best I can do since everybody drinks and I'd have no life if I wanted to quit completely so I have to try and reduce the amount of booze every night. I'm getting tired of feeling tired all day long. I do work out and mostly eat clean but this is ridiculous. Actually I didn't drink that much quantity-wise, I'd only sneak in a 6 pack or 3 tall boys and hide what I was doing from my family, but I did it often. The night I went in to rehab I went BSC on Stoli (I'd moved on to sneaking down to the basement and drinking my husbands liquor a week prior) and my BAL was .233. Sometimes I drank wine, but you can't really crush up a glass bottle and hide it, you know? If you hate it and your body is sick and tired, it's telling you something. Listen to it. PM me and we can chat more. Formerly faint |

I recommend anyone with a substance abuse problem seek help before you destroy your life. Fortunately I still have mine. Quoting: faint I'm being balls-out serious here (though I don't have any) but if you want info on help or need to talk, you can also PM me. Please don't troll, there are probably others who were in my situation and it's a difficult topic. |

That's the next thing to go, but I am going to take things one step at a time. I've actually moved 3 hours away from home for the time being and relocating my outpatient rehab to accommodate that. It is very hard, but best for my family right now. I'm living with my mom and it's a total "dry zone" and I would never disrespect her by drinking at/in her house. She is also very supportive and it's quiet and calm here. I've got to find an AA group here for today but that shouldn't be hard. Formerly faint |

Maybe you could start swallowing instead of spitting? That would seem like a good motivator. *gag* I've quit smoking before, actually went about 9 years before I started back last year. I just had to go cold turkey and suck it up, as harsh as that sounds. It was a bitch, especially since my husband smokes, but I got through the first few weeks and then the smell started to make me sick. I'm on benzos too, but I take them as prescribed. I want off and my doc is going to wean me down/off and honestly I am scared to death of any kind of withdrawal. :-( Formerly faint |
