Yeah, you are right.
Most traditional Americans never get to be a Senator of the most traditional American state.

I don't really understand the importance of this decision but I'm trusting Trump is making the right choice. As an evangelical, I say screw the conservative lying party! Fake liars and cheaters. Trump is real!! Trump2016
 Quoting: tamaralori

I have to ask, as an evangelical, how can you support Trump who has said on record that while he considers himself a Christian he has never had to ask for forgiveness for anything. His mantra was "just don't make mistakes in the first place".

Personally, as being Jewish I don't understand how any religious person could answer this way. I believe Jews and Christians have this in common; the need for prayer, forgiveness and atonement on a daily basis.

To me, this just shows the height of arrogance and narcissism and is a DANGEROUS trait.

Even if you agree with him on the issues; build a wall, strong borders, keep us safe, have strong treaties; doesn't it worry you that this is a major personal and spiritual flaw in this man who may be the next president of the united states; and in control of a nuclear arsenal?
 Quoting: chrion777

Trump is a presbytarian and his beliefs are probably in keeping with his faith not yours.

And, every jew I know atones for their sins only once a year and barely go to shule.

Let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

Let me guess. You were in a fist fight once and you rushed home for your padded bicycle helmet, screaming, "Don't hit me, don't hit me, until I put on my helmet!"
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71601819

Sometimes it takes more courage to not do something than to do something.

He's smart, CPAC is a waste of precious time.

Besides, honestly think Trump would rather be with ordinary Americans and not these impudent wealthy conservatives wishing to push their will and morals on the entire country.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70789818

Why be insulted by people who aren't going to give you money and you don't need the money? If these donors wish to spend money on Cruz or Romney just to defeat Trump and have another 8 years of Democrats, then let them live with the consequences of their decisions.

The Republicans are going to have hell to pay if they steal the nomination from Trump and then lose another Presidential election.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71601819

Even the lib/dem bernie supporters I know seem to think that the republicans are working to get hilary elected.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70789818

Hillary and the dems have already stolen the nomination from Bernie! Those bernie supporters should stand with Trump. We'd have a LANDSLIDE.

In a weird way, Bernie and Trump are a lot alike. They are the only two who seem to sincerely care about their supporters.

A state full of illegals, where a supreme court justice died and a president.

Where there were allegations of cheating during the primaries.

A state that gave us LBJ and GWB....

I'm beginning to wish texas was still part of mexico as it appears to be a horrible horrible place.

CPAC is where Ron Paul won every year for a number of years.. it is the STICK constitutionalism.... that go and vote.
 Quoting: NewsFlash8888

Yeah well, you have a lot of mofos who hide behind constitutionalism and conservatism who in fact believe in neither. Leopards who change their spots from Trotskyite, red diaper babies to neo conservatives. And of course no one even fucking wonders at the spot changing because all the conservative rags and media are own by the same morphing Trotsyites.

The difference with Donald is he knows who killed his friends in 9-11. So does prosecutor Christy. This election is about over turning the Bush-Clinton-Obama neo-con criminal cabal. Exposing the perps. That's whats' at stake. President Trump, Christy, Attorney General, is their worst fucking nightmare.

That' why Christy joined with Trump and that's why there is so much unexplained push back against a 70's era New York liberal Republican.

I don't see this hurting him one bit.

The people who are voting FOR him trust him to do what is the best interest of THIS ELECTION.

He is smart, and has smart people advising him. No problem.
 Quoting: Michele B

I suspect, like others here, that Trump and his advisers smelled a set-up and a staged political ambush-smear planned for the CPAC event.

Rather than fall prey to their hidden game-plan, he simply bailed, knowing or suspecting full-well what was actually going down for that event.

Props to DT for bailing.

They will try again and again to set things up to hurt his campaign.

Do not trust the GOP any longer, there are various-cloaked rats among them.

NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland—When Donald Trump takes the stage to speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference on Saturday, there just might be an uprising.

“We’re gonna do a walk-out on Mr. Trumpster,” William Temple—a fixture at the conservative convention held just outside Washington, D.C., who Newsweek once described as the face of the Tea Party—said Thursday, eagerly telling anyone who would listen about his plans to defy the Donald.

He'd rather rally and address THE PEOPLE than pander to a room full of politico shitheads.

It would have been smarter to address the shortcomings of last night by clarifying his positions, policies, and plans in a coherent, precise manner. The media last night was attacking him for being inconsistent, and for excessively deploying ad hominem instead of answering the questions. He alone is making the republican party look like a joke. I am not a republican, but I can still imagine how damaging this is to the party. But at the same time, it presents an opportunity. The way he was attacked, well it really wasn't an attack. I would argue that what we saw last night was good journalism. ALL candidates should be vetted and called out on. No one should be allowed to dodge questions, and all must be confronted with their contradictions and undeveloped platforms.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69496339

Total bullshit. You give such an insipid fucking analysis consisting of canned CNN memes it makes me wonder if you ever had a thought of your own.

How many presidential campaigns have you ever seen or actually engaged? I seen quit a few. No one has ever seen a full spectrum 24/7, seven month long Orwellian hate directed against any presidential candidate. This is just not "unusual," its unprecedented.

Even more, having the full spectrum hate campaign come not just from the political opposition, but nearly the entire media, political class and celebrity culture. Even the Republican party which should be at least neutral and not attacking Trump.

So fuck you. Trump is not making anyone look bad. No one would believe that unless you are so invested in the fucking toxic American political culture of donor run politicians that you can't see your ass from a whole in the ground.

Post above says it all.

It's a full-scale attack all right. No longer hidden in the shadows like previously.

The nuanced and subtle covert-stuff wasn't working very effectively, so they blatantly turned it up, and thus exposed themselves in the process.

One can only hope that disgruntled Carson and (soon) Sanders supporters see the light and switch their support.

I may not wholly agree with Trump on a few things, but I disagree MORESO with any of the others still running. His choice of VP will be a big final-decider for some of us also.

Vote Trump or else write in some other (in the GE).

Orthodox Jews pray 3 times a day, kind of a mini atonement and a time to attach to g-d. A time to acknowledge and reset to stay on the right path. Yom Kippur the day of atonement, with a 25 hour fast is once a year.

I don't think it is part of the Presbytarian faith that you're perfect and don't need to ask for forgiveness for anything. Someone else who's Prebyatarian can correct me if I'm wrong.

No. Not at all. Guilt is the base of the western religions, and it paralyzes. We can't afford that. Trump is low-inhibition and smart enough to handle it. He doesn't waste time lamenting and focuses on solving the problem, until it's solved. That's what we need.
