Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69493004 "Just yesterday, Canadian comedian Mike Ward, testified before a human rights tribunal hearing about a joke he made. This stems from a special in 2012 when Ward had made a joke about a young man with a syndrome that causes a facial disfigurement. The young man, Jérémy Gabriel made headlines in Quebec when he was flown to Rome to sing for Pope Benedict a few years before. The bit sets up with Ward stating that at first he was happy Gabriel was getting so much attention following the papal visit. “But now, five years later, and he’s still not dead… Me, I defended him, like an idiot, and he won’t die.” Gabriel claimed that he’s since been subject to emotional pain and suffering and that the joke went too far. You interpreted that correctly, Canada is opening up the chance for people to sue because they do not like a joke. It’s an affront to freedom of speech and the right for art. This could set a precedent which could have an effect on any comedian attempting to speak their mind and entertain. Moreso the potential livelihood of many." source - [link to thelaughbutton.com] Just wait till one of these people kill themselves though. Is it not a form of bullying in a sense? Now I've never seen this comedian but I've seen Lisa Lampanelli talk about Sarah Palin's son a few times and it's really really bad. |

If someone kills themselves over something so trivial, whose fault is it, really??? If you kill yourself over s reality TV show, does that mean the show was at fault or your mentality was at fault? He's a comedian. If people didn't raise pathetic pussy children, we wouldn't have these kind of problems. Everyone grew up with bullying, which is sad, but it's reality. Kids in the 40's, 70's and the 90's didn't kill themselves over bullying, but nowadays they do.. Why?????? Because society has no fucking spine. It's comedy. Fuck that kid and fuck anyone supporting the fact that he was offended. Also, fuck that comedian for all I care, even though I think he's the least guilty. Really, fuck everyone. People need to shut up, mind their own business, and get on with their lives. Stop watching TV. |

The fact that this comedian is now crying for his "right" makes me happy. Poetic justice. Hope he is ass raped in prison some more. Hows that for comedy, fuckface? And how do you like your free speech now? ![]() |

What kind of fucked up logic is that? Because YOU decide on a course of action after hearing audible tones made by someone/something else, we are to blame the originator of those soundwaves and not the person who was so fucked up in the head, they kill themselves over it? I just can't imagine why this world is getting so close to burning down around us. Where the hell are those smores again? |
