Anonymous Coward User ID: 60682038 United States 03/08/2016 02:58 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Short purpled haired, tattoo covered, nose ringed, new ager.....no surprise there..... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71554755 It's not something 'new'. Midwives tell this to their patients. It eases pain, ripens the cervix, lubricates the vagina...all making childbirth easier. but not really. ... That is why is not a well known method. If you have ever had labor pains then you know it would not help. The contractions are different then the orgasm. Labor pains tend to feel very similar to the cramps & back pain that are associated with menstrual cycles. They are just on an extremely elevated level. Masturbation does help with period pain, so it only makes sense that it would help with labor pain as well. Back in the Middle Ages, women would use specific herbs to prevent conception after having sex. It's an old method that provided good results, but it's no longer well known. That doesn't mean it never existed nor that it didn't work. |

And it is a sexual act - sexuality and spirituality are the same thing. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71515968 Notice that this girl is very tatted up. That means she enjoyed the feeling of getting needled. Not everyone does. Some people perceive pain as pleasure, and many don't. She generates lots of endorphins that deal with pain in a good way. Many women will, and many won't. It's always worth a try - free and fun. In more enlightened days, midwives would suggest that the woman have sex with her husband to get a stalled birth moving. It works. My doctor suggested that my husband and I abstain from sex due to my high risk of premature labor. I've had friends who's doctors suggested the opposite when they are beyond term. Mine did when I was two weeks past due. Sexual activity can stimulate labor. Oh, and by the way, the hormones that are released during orgasm are good for the baby. but think of all the little spermatooza that end up with concussion.... It's life as we know it, but only just. There is such a thing as where to draw the line for events considered Sacred. So they had Birthing Huts where just invited women of the village tended a birth, for a full month afterwards mum and baby were tended in the hut which reduced 'task and emotional stress' for both. The guys waited outside while mumsy had her baby. All this 'Gaskin Farm' mopping the decks with bloody placentas caked hair and letting it all hang out is just disrespectful of how people both men and women really feel generally. There is a time and place for everything and respectful boundaries are something we've really lost. |

All ended well. |

Quoting: VioletR What do other people think of this? Do you think its too sexual an act to do during labour? Or is it more of a spiritual act and the amazing ability your own body has to manage pain? [link to www.dailymail.co.uk] When I was very young, my first girlfriend would have terrible cramps when she had her period. She wanted sex because it would relive the cramps. We used condoms and I obliged. nuff said. That was very kind of you! deplorably republican |

Have you seen what a bloody mess it is and the worst looking part of it is the after birth. Her playing with her little nub is the least graphic of details and will stop once the baby is about to come out. Her rubbing her lady bit is no worse than her rubbing her lower back to try and relieve the pain. The nub has many nerve endings and is sensitive to touch. If it gives the woman relief I say go for it. There is no modesty in giving birth. Agree 100%. The only thing disgusting are the men on here that think this is filthy. Childbirth is the direct result of sex. This is completely natural and relieves pain and stress during childbirth. Most women are completely unaware of what they need to help them have a more pain free and quicker childbirth. Here's another piece of information about childbirth you might not know: Stimulating the nipples during labor releases natural oxytocin which speeds up the delivery process. |

Allow me to suggest at least a middle ground with this .. because this excessive openness isn't so good either. Religious are too closed, but drunks are too open. During labor with my first, I was induced and she still didn't want to come out so the nurse sent me I into the tub with a wash cloth and told me to stimulate my nipples with it to speed up contractions. It sure did work to get the contractions going but she still waited another 9 hours to make her appearance. That was a long day till I broke down and called for anesthesia. I could have married that anesthesiologist. In one minute I went from excruciating to back labor to feeling nothing and eating a Popsicle. |

I mean how many times could you do that before your just worn out ? I guess I don't get it. Quoting: TKC Obviously drugs are going to be used at some point for most women but women should try and help reduce the pain and discomfort with other methods during the earlier stages of labour. Drugs should not be the first go to method at the least little sign of pain. Remember you are doping your baby as well when you are taking these pain killers. Natural methods to relieve pain and speed up delivery should not be overlooked. That's what I get from this article. |

Some women even accidentally have orgasms during childbirth, because it's the vagina and sometimes pain crosses pleasure centers. Orgasms also release chemicals into the brain and reduces pain, it makes perfect sense. It can also help bring on contractions, which is sometimes why you hear about couples having sex in order to induce labor. Some people male and female masturbate as a way to release pain. It's beneficial especially in people that are allergic to pain medications. Chill out people, this is human anatomy. Sex created all of us, none of your are exempt from that fact. A mother had sex to create you, and she pushed you out and gave you life. Masturbatory pain relief is fine and dandy as long as it's not done in the public eye medical scenarios excluded and if you're in the medical field and find it offensive then go work in pediatrics...oh wait..some kids also grab themselves for comfort. |
