Quoting: Anonymous Coward 55962195 How is it possible that the moon is so banged up facing us, how would these objects hit the moon while earth was there. Good call Op! You started something alright. And one could vent to imagine what happened to the meteors? Why aren't the meteors still fixed in the crater? Did every single rock that hit the moon pulverize? How does a rock even pulverize? |

Is it.... 1. millions of years there was a war between human and the mooninites 2.The moon has craters from asteroids that hit millions of years ago and no atmosphere. Asteroids can still hit the moon facing earth. Think about how that could happen. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 68219845 United States 03/08/2016 12:24 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Small to medium size Asteroids or meteors come from behind our planet. The ones that would have hit earth either do or burn up in our atmosphere. The ones that just miss earth and have just the right angle uses the space between earth and the moon to take a diagonal trajectory toward the moon. These will either just miss the moon, miss it completely, or hit the moon the directly and since the moon has zero atmosphere, not a single one burns up and so explodes upon impact. Over years and years and years of this cycle happening you get earth facing craters to match the craters on the far side which logically will more than likely have even more craters because the dark side does not have earth to do any blocking for it. Earth is the moons giant line backer and just like football no matter how big your line backer there will still be a bunch of sacks from blitzes that break through every season. Hope this helped. |

In fact the dark side of the moon (from the pictures that have been released anyways.. if you believe them) is... boring.. compared to the earth side of the moon. Weird. OPie, why are there so many craters on your head when your brain is un-tethered? Reality leaves a lot to the imagination... John Lennon |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 52034683 The moon has almost no gravity. Meteors would bunny bounce fluffilly. Really? Did you go to school? Can you use the search function? Do you know a physicist? Surely meteors should bunny bounce fluffily off of the earth's surface as Neil Armstrong could obviously jump on the earth's surface but not gain as much airtime. Only a little difference.... right? If you want to believe we are all in a minecraft type video game for some alien nerd then nothing I say will be good enough. |

The FAR SIDE of the Moon has more craters than the near side. In fact, it is almost nothing but craters while the near side has large mares. Reaching for the sky makes you taller. Hi!
