Anonymous Coward User ID: 70170995 Australia 03/15/2016 08:03 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Ive tried to use an RTL device to track military and police aircraft flying overhead but unfortunately they do not use adsb... Made my own antennas for it tho... colinier coaxial or something, too late for me to double check the name.. Also youll find "drones" use 2.4 / 5.8ghz for video which you cant tune in unless you get a better rtl with a wider band... and good luck decoding the video :) "Airspy" is nice... tx / rx up to 5ghz I think off the top of my head. Things get interesting when you start looking for your mobile phones KC Key ;) |

In my area these are limited to tankers and transports. They are being mandated to use ADSB by 2020, so hopefully (for our sake) this will pan out. We need a whole army listening for them if they do. |

Yeah I spent about 3 solid days on the laptop in the backyard just scanning... I was going to look into FLARM on 868mhz but no choppers or light aircraft were flying around :( Wicked site to cross referance signals is [link to www.sigidwiki.com] Pretty much endless what you can do / see with these $20 usb sticks! |

I just got mine. I watched the tutorials from what's his name, Ossman? I'm just in the middle of other projects. The Hack RF one is next up after I finish the one I am on. |

That signal site is sweet! Thanks for the find. I'm going to include it in future videos. |
