But I have been to Belize twice in my life.

I never saw anything like this. Of course, were I was was segregated--tourist.

Protected.

The rest of the world is nothing like the United States folks, for all our problems.

Many have no idea.

Jamacia is the same.

Grand Cayman and Little Cayman is the same. Cozumel.

Won't even discuss Honduras, or Cosata Rica. If you plan to visit, that's fine. If you plan to emigrate, you better have someone there. You can trust--with your life.

Nice to visit, stay in the tourist areas. Belize City is pretty nasty. If you are not with a tour group, you had better be with a good size group with some really big guys who know how to fight. I have hear horror stories of people getting mugged and worse in Belize City.

Sad, it is a beautiful place.

I went to Belize loved it spent 8 days 4 on a island where no cars where allowed it was awesome , then we went in the Jungle and saw some ruins , I did not watch video was to scared

Joe Bageant retired to Belize and wrote in his talented, deluded way how lovely the people were.

Well I was hoping that this dude would drop some sensible info here about my government. But this video is BS. LOL that our forces are trained by FBI and US Military... Hardly.

The video was shot in the middle of the biggest gang area in one of the biggest gang wars. They terrorized our city for days. (Thank God they mostly only kill each other). The women (mothers and wives) encourage these gangsters in their BS. And not one person was shot in that ordeal.

I'm always hoping this dope would drop some shocking news but all he wants to do is embarrass my country. He just loved it when he was down here wreaking havoc and living as he pleased.

I did the cliffs of Negril Jamacia this year, it was ok, however we were not in a tourist protected area, I could see how easy it is to get hurt if you are not sharp. We tipped well right off the start to make sure the locals knew to get the word out we were ok, weather that made any difference I dont know, but I feel like it was a small insurance policy. They are used to retirees from all over the world and tend to be curtious since its the main source of income, however we went through a few raw towns like Lucia on the way, it was a mad house. Mostly friendly but I wouldnt advise being out and about beyond the designated tourist areas. Never had a problem but I was prepared to kill every living thing in reach if I had too.

I certainly understand, there are reservations in Canada that resemble the place in the protestor video but with far less vegetation.

Who would want to live there? All I see is a bunch of apes dressed up in human clothes. Any human being stupid enough to trust 1/2 million dollars worth of furniture in what amounts to a free range zoo deserves whatever fresh hell comes their way.

Anybody watching Amazon prime series "Mad Dogs" ? it's a fictional show about a group of friends that go to Belize for their friend's retirement .

Good show, but it was actually shot in Puerto Rico.
