Re: Anyone Frequent "Mall World" In Their Dreams
me :) i had a dream that ticks ALL those boxes a couple of years ago.

anothe rsimilar one that was a hyper/real/modern University campus.. again with the enormous steep escalators and ramps
 Quoting: hotvani11a 71928659

The "hyper/real/modern University campus" seems to be involved in "Mall World" as well. Adjacent to perhaps, same side of town. It's difficult to describe how the areas of this place/city/urban area are connected.

The ones I go to, the toilets never work right.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 26563083

Yes I too go into mall world and it's somewhere out in the desert and I always end up having to go into the creepy busted up bathroom, so weird that I found this post.

Went there again last night. I was in the underground level, using it as a shortcut because there were very few people there and I wanted to avoid the slum above ground. Everything was clean, the floors and stairs were white marble. Only the food vendors were open for business.

I was there last night. There was a room where a Congressional Committee was having a hearing. There was a hotel connected to the mall. There was a tent in the parking lot with vendors selling food.

This is the closest I have ever found IWL that comes to Mall World.

It obviously doesn't show the scuzzy underbelly where you can go through ground floor and leave...but for me anyhow, this is reminiscent of Mall World to a T.

Mall world sub basement warehouse world folks see if these jog any memories.
 Quoting: Publican

Yooo ijust started reading about mall world yesterday and can relate to almost every post, but LAST NIGHT I was in the underground world and it looked similar to the first photo. It was dirty and raggedy people were scavanging for whatever they could. I remember a lady in one of the short concrete clearings on her hands and knees rubbing the fiberglass insulation / dirt together looking for whatever she could to trade to the 'powers' for food. She did this for a disturbingly long time and found something very tiny, I think a paperclip. She told me she could get 60 crackers or cookies for that paperclip. They were living like those people in that documentary about some country in South America (I don't remember which) but under the mall. Super weird.

Re: Anyone Frequent "Mall World" In Their Dreams
did any mall worlders dream of a shooting last night
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75615671

The night of the shooting in Las Vegas I had a dream of being shot close range. I told this to my boyfriend, then later we heard about the shooting and we were like hmmmmmm.

When I was shot I was resisting something, probably just trying to not get killed. The guy who shot me was in a uniform of some sort, I'm assuming police. I tried ducking under a table and scrambling away many times. I looked into the gun and was shot in the head. There was a quick white flash. Then I woke up. The guy was across the room when he shot me, by the only door to the room. Idk if I remote viewed when they killed the man or not, but it was a vivid dream and later finding out that the shooting was taking place while I slept was strange.

Ok.
In a post about the TAAL Volcano I wrote about a dream I had. Since reading is fundamental I am not posting it here, go there and lurk.

However, it triggered a few other dream posts and some ‘dream tards’ started to emerge.

A user named Pl8to or something mentioned mall world...and oddly I have heard of it more and more in the past year...but reading it made my mind flip flop for a second. I wondered what it was and then had about 5 dreams or so come up in my head in that split second....thinking, oh shit that’s MallWorld?

So. Yeah I got an inner feeling I have gone there. More recently though and...like let me say I maybe heard of mall world on tv or coast to coast (in the past year within some form of media)...I recognize it by sound, not by it being one word or two...I think I heard or encountered it in a more sublimed sense as well.

Anyway. I think I go there. I know for a fact I fucking go there....I use got chills.

I could say the east side does have some large stores. And inside I happed to the there last at closing. Like 10 minutes to closing, I have found some old Star Wars figures there. I feel like I am completely remembering a past life now because as I type I am realizing how often I’ve gone.

Now, I do not usually sleep until 4am til 11am. Usually wake around 10 and doze for a while. I am now just kinda tripping off what I realized I wrote. Being, maybe it’s only accessible during certain hours. And why does this seem clear to me?

I think I know how to go in and out of it.

And I guess you’re not free to come and go...and least I don’t get that impression. As I recall now, I often go from one end to the other and it changes on the way back and the changes past a turn between a few different settings. This is the second floor, in my recollection, which is at the opposite end is the first and only floor, near the DepartmentStord like shop I don’t th8nk i go to. The other end where there are two stories has a multi tiered store that has everything.

Now the ground floor has some tents in one corridor I visit. And like I say, it’s almost always closing. But I think the exit is also somewhat near this area.

I’m recall to exit or enter, there is a air vent from the outside at three stories high that you can go through and gain access to a stairwell to go inside.

I believe there are a few casino type area....and a roller skate rink and pizza place with real low ceilings.

One place I was able to get in line for food and the line was gone as soon as I stood in line. Now that’s service!

I also believe there is a monorail system of sorts that is the only other place besides being in the parking lot (of which I have only been on the east side of) where there is no roof.

Anyway, this place I have gone to many times and quite a few as recent I would say is protected, not for everyone, and yeah I say I see maybe 80-100 people there when I’m there. Like I say it’s probably closing time.

Cool thread.
Can't go through the whole thing, my "Mall World" is an apartment complex, run down in certain areas, lavish in others....some areas are fine, some run down, and some areas of my Mall world are Haunted (No go Zone.. The brain as an amazing thing :)

My favorite part of the reoccurring dream is going through old drawers, rooms, finding trinkets.. but there's a feeling about certain areas..negative shit..Dreams are amazing!

Re: Anyone Frequent "Mall World" In Their Dreams
I posted the got mall world thread. Sorry I’m 28 pages late to the party. Im trippin off some of these entries. The parts that coincide are phenomenal. On this page in particular I am now reading the about apartments.

I will post here as well as my post. I am trying to engage some people with questions regarding entry and exit most specifically, and then some other pieces to what I think is an interesting puzzle,

For instance, the apartments I have been too and recently a house within a house. I’m beginning to think they are rather connected as i am beginning to think I went to the bowels of a house to go to mall world.

I’ve also visited some apartments that I have ways to get into, but am not a resident of. In particular some residents seem to be bizarro versions of acquaintances where some are okay I’m there and some aren’t.

The shooter / remote viewing thing makes me wonder if we are in a collective of places with high traffic or activity.

I’ve not encountered any desert to this place. City streets to gain access to from the east and southeast mainly.

I reckon a monorail is there and a gambling area

Weird uncanny thread.
Its funny after all of these years I still remember a recurring nightmare I used have as a child.
In a mall going up the escalator and seeing the lights under the escalator, as I am getting to the top, My parents not noticing I get sucked under the part the rolls off into an underworld evil place.

And all the trials and tribulations of trying to get back into the Mall to my worrying parents above. Was kinda like Tron or something..

Re: Anyone Frequent "Mall World" In Their Dreams
I haven't read all 9 pages yet. Anybody ride on rides in their dreams?
This is my dream world;

For me, I seem to go to AMUSEMENT PARK world. In that world, I get on rides, stand in lines and go back to the same rides, restaurants & stores that have sections of racks of clothing. Sometimes mall world is connected to the amusement park/water park.
In my dreams I can surf in a wave producing area.

When I try to find mall world while driving... I can see the freeways from above (like from an airplane) and look at a real life map of where I am.

I get disoriented because the San Fernando Valley and Orange County look so similar. I go the Topanga Canyon mall sometimes.
All the theme parks are a huge glom of stores and very unusual experience.. rides. A few are extremely scary.

Oh. And I'm always going back to my childhood house in the SFV. Its overgrown, smaller and kinda run down.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71334902

Working my way through the pages of this. The amount of similarities are astonishing. Oddly, this above quote of the familiarity to the San Fernando Valley seems to set off a big 'DING' as a match. I didn't want to say it earlier, but yes it completely resembles the locale of the Topanga Mall. Yet, where Victory Blvd is is more where I think some forest or wooded area starts. I also get the feeling I only see the eastern most part of the mall as well as the most southern part.

I am glad someone mentioned the time frame they feel like they experience there, day, dusk, dawn. When I go I feel like I only have 10 minutes to do my deed. In this glp-posting reality, I often fall asleep at 4am due to a technician on-call schedule I have to adhere to; conversely, around 9AM when I am waking I would figure not many folks are asleep anymore, which makes me start likening the idea that the occupants are indeed on a particular schedule, timeline and may be other dreamers...maybe ones not so lucid as the rest of us here.

Has anyone here read the book House of Stairs?

Author: William Sleator.

Not exactly mall world, but it was written in the 70's and I read someone mention that mall world seems to coincide with having building parts of the 70's; HVAC, coax..etc.

Pretty weird, I had these type of dreams my whole life. Just two nights ago I was on that damn escalator that if you don’t jump off right away, you end up circling upside down, and around .... you have to jump off quickly to avoid going through this loop.

I also have this recurring dream about being in a car driving on this bridge. The only way to go over the bridge is by going up a hundred feet on this mechanical lift, and then going down the other side like a roller coaster. I fucking hate that bridge!!!

OP Here again:

I've taken the bus in this dream world too. I've mentioned it elsewhere in the thread. Travelling by bus, waiting at bus stops and being disoriented while looking for a particular bus stop are recurring episodes.

Does anyone else feel like Mall World closely resembles the Forum Shops at Caeser's Palace in Vegas? Right down to having its own "day and night" but while contained within a building?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30671160

OP here again

Parts, yes:

See my previous posts with representative photos of the main library in Detroit and so forth. Look through the thread and check out all the photo links.

OP Here again -

Here are all my posts from a thread I wrote somewhere else 6 years ago. Might be more details in these posts of mine, or something I missed, etc... Sorry if it seems like a wall of text. Let's see if I'm allowed to copy and paste it all in one fell swoop:

I posted this in another thread I just found, and thought I'd start a thread of my own. Looking for people who may have recurring dreams of the same metropolitan area I go to almost every night in my dreams.

For about a year, more or less (I haven't really kept track) I've been seemingly going into the same "dreamworld" in almost every dream that I can remember. What I mean by "the same "dreamworld"" is this: it's the same place everytime. It's a city. Just a city. Not some futuristic or otherworldly city, just a city. A metropolitan area that I seem to be familiar with in the dream. It reminds me (after waking) of an area near Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan. Sometimes I'm outside trying to find a bus stop, other times I'm walking, trying to find my bearings so I might get to some location in the city. The area I seem to always find myslf near also has a freeway interchange of some sort. Other times it seems somehow apocalyptic. Sometimes I find myself in the basement of a building, trying to find a safe hiding place frome something. The basement is full of old junk and rubble , and there are passageways of some sort in the walls where I try to hide. Sometimes I'm in the same tobacco shop, over and over, wanting to smoke, but not havng any cigarettes (I smoke in waking life). The shop is full of forign cigarettes like DuMaurier's and the like.

Infrequently I can "float" around, but those around me in the dream don't seem to notice I'm trying to show them I can float, or maybe they don't care that I can.

It always seems to be dusk, or twighlight in the city when I'm there. Or not too long after sundown.

And just to clarify. It's not the same dream every night, over and over. It's the same place over and over. And I'm doing different things and am in different locations within this "same place".

No lake or dock or mountains. It's always the same metropolitan area. It reminds me of the campus area of Wayne Stae University in Detroit, but I'm not sure this is the actual area I find myself in. I just took a look on Google Earth of the main branch of the Detroit Public Library (the Cass Street side). It reminds me of the place in the dream. I sometimes find myself walking in a corridor in a building that reminds me of the library, or some campus type building. I walk up a short flight of stairs and exit the building and try to find a bus stop. I wind up walking around though, looking for something. There is a freeway interchange. There is however no freeway interchange in reality in the immediate area of the Detoit Public Library main branch.

I haven't lived in Detroit in 20 years, but when I did it was near Wayne State. I can't say with certainty if the "dreamworld" I find myself in almost every night is this area, but it sure does seem like it. And there are freeway interchanges in the area. The photos below look like it did in my dreams, only at night or dusk.

[link to i1056.photobucket.com]

I can't remember ever seeing my reflection in these dreams. And the people are normal. I don't interact with them, except to say that when I found I could "float" in a controlled manner, they didn't seem to take any notice of it.

These places in my dreams only remind me of Detroit, in the Wayne State area, where I lived 20 years ago. But it's the going there in practically every dream that strikes me as odd. Always the same time of day, same general area. Always slightly disoriented, and trying to make my way somewhere, but unfamiliar with exactly where I am in the city, what city it is etc...

And when I'm in the dream I'm not lucid. It's only upon awakening that I realize I've gone to "that place" again. And when I'm going to bed I always hope I get to go back there again that night, to explore and try to figure out where I am. Andevery dream I remember is from that place. I don't seem to remember any other dreams. But in the dream I don't remember my waking life, so...

I don't have a memory of past dreams while dreaming. I think the physical sensation in the dream when I'm floating is that of contracing my muscles, mostly my core muscles in the abdomen, while leaning slightly forward and then I just seem to "lift off". I level off just a couple feet from the ground, still in a vertical standing position, and still leaning slightly forward. I begin to float/glide forward while looking at the people around me. This, as I recall takes place outdoors on a sidewalk. The people aound me don't seem to notice or perhaps I just think they don't notice when in actuality they do, but they don't think it's unusual. Either way, they do not respond to my floating.

As for the other dream, the feeling is definatly a feeling of speed and inertia. Not a feeling of space bending around me.

I only recognize that it's the same place when I remember the dream after I wake up. It's like oh... I went to that place again. Damn it, why did I have to wake up! And now that you mention it it does seem like I have to keep my muscles contracted in order to stay aloft. I don't recall flying feet first though.

*I actually do recall flying feet first, now that I've run across this old post of mine*
- OP annotaion

My dream:

I'm in what could be described as a mall. It's ornate though. Marble floors, marble walls. It reminded me of the emerald city from The Wizard of Oz, but not emerald in color. Just the opulence of it. It isn't exactly a mall either, but I can see how it might feel like a mall. It has the same expansive and multi-leveled feeling of being in a mall, but more like a self contained city. There is a winding staircase. On a floor of an area of this enclosed city is a film theater. There are doormen at the doors to the entrance. It's a one screen theatre, not a multi-plex. I peer inside and see the theatre is filled with people that I fancy are watching a summary of my life, and are making some kind of judgement, or scoring me as when a teacher scores an exam. I find my way back down the stairs to an exit. There seem to be no people anywhere in this enclosed city-like place. Only in the theatre. The dream then shifts and I'm outside of the city. I'm standing on the other side of some type of fence that borders the city. It seems to be built up on on a large hill/crest/mountain?. It sems like it might be near a coast. As I stand there, Cmdr. Data from ST:TNG approachs me, or I appraoch him and ask him what this place is, or something to that effect. Then Iwake up, or dream something else. This was something like 20 years ago. So... what the hell?

Holy frijoles! I used to have a recurring dream of being in a house on a stairway/landing trying to gain access to a hidden/inaccessable room, the entrance to which was a secret panel/door on the stairway/landing. I had that dream over and over. Sometimes I could get into the room, but don't remember what was in it. Thanks fo reminding me. Freaky.

I keep running across posts like yours mentioning "malls". There is a mall in this place in my dreams. I've been inside it, outside it. It has more than one floor with crazy stairs and.or escalators. Also... there is some kind of office.cafeteria area in a sub-level with hallways and walk-though areas. I wish I could describe it better.

The basement of the house is rather creepy to me, and not at all homey. Neither is the house. And I don't remember a hallway will many doors off the living-room. But I don't have the best recall when I wake up, and these various buildings seem to all be connected somehow at times, and not connected at other times. Like hallways leading underground from the house, to the mall, to the food storerooms and the offices. The mall is ultra-modern and brightly lit and directly connected somehow to the offices. The food store-rooms are in a sub level. I've found myself on numerous occasions within the food store rooms trying to collect supplies without being found out. Of course there's more going on. It's just rather difficult to describe the connectedness of the house and the mall and the other places I've described. But the city is quite deserted. few people here and there if any at all. Like a scene from the tv miniseries "The Langoliers", by Stephen King. A spooky, damp desertedness. Overcast or at least dimply lit.

Yes. maze-like is a way to describe it. Just recently I was dreaming there and i wound up in a stairwell that had a way in when I went down it. But upon turning around to go back up, after finding the stairwell down led to a bricked in space full of snow, the way back up had disappeared. I was in the mall-like portion of this place when I encountered the stairwell. The mall was even more maze-like than I have previously dreamed.

Motherfuckers, my fractals and myself are mall world.

And right meow we are hurling through space in an abandoned mining camp full of sacrifices that I stole.

If you do not have a dual passport, welcome go the motherfucking party.

You will soon die, so mall world may live.
