"What is the cost of attending? Financial obligations of delegates include, but are not limited to: lodging (the RNC requires you purchase all 5 nights), food, travel, and a $900 participation charge. Take into consideration that convention centers and hotels often have higher costs for food and beverage purchases than you would find at home. We estimate the costs for a delegate to range between $3,000-$6,000." [link to www.cagop.org (secure)] That estimate above is for their meeting in Los Angeles in June, and doesn't include any of the costs of traveling to Cleveland for the National Convention. I would guess the whole thing will set a delegate back about $10K - maybe a bit less if you really go budget. I can see spending that if it was going to be a fair vote, but personally, I'm not ready to make that kind of investment when it looks like they are going to hand the nomination to Romney/Ryan anyway.
