You are far better off carrying a wood gassification stove in which you can use free and abundant fuel from the environment. Light Weight Wood Gas Backpacking Emergency Survival Burning Camping Stove Hike [link to www.ebay.com] Or I could carry both..or just start a regular fire. If you are trying to pack a minimalist and light bag, best to chose one item that works universally. BUT....you should carry multiple methods/tools for creating a fire....be it a camp or stove fire.
