I went almost 13 days and nights without sleep, and yes, it will drive one crazy.. I had to take some drug that was a tranquilizer. I had to or I was going to die. Then after 30 days, I had to come off the drug and had withdraws from it.

I can imagine that staying awake for a certain amount of time can fuel the charisma and energy of an individual, sorta like crystal meth.
Makes me think maybe meth was somewhere in the mix as well for Prince.
