Anyone else having horrid allergy season? Im in North Alabama and for past two weeks have been in misery with it. Ive tried both over the counter and prescriptions medicine. Ive seen others having misery too. Headache. Sneezing about 30 times a day. Eyes swollen and blood red. Cheeks are puffy with red rash. Nose pouring out clear liquid. Sore throat and coughing up watery junk. This is like no season I've ever experienced in my nearly 50 years. I've had to miss several days of work because the water coming out of my nose and eyes.

Re: Anyone else having the horrid allergy attack?
My neighbor is having very difficult time with allergies. She went to doctor and her med made her too sleep to work. Central California, chemtrails daily until the blue sky is covered in particulates and turned into a haze. I have decided to run my AC fan all the time and keep the doors and windows shut.
Had a dream long ago which showed me the future and it was not pretty. Been watching closely ever since.

Re: Anyone else having the horrid allergy attack?
I've had hay fever for years, getting rid of gluten and dairy from my diet solved most of it but I still have some horrible days where my sinuses itch so bad I want to shove something up there and scrape it around. I actually tried something like that once with a q tip and never tried again.

Anyway, the only things that help are Astelin nose spray to stop the sneezing and an oil diffuser to soothe the sinuses. I had tried every pill and nose spray that was available at the time and when Astelin came out, it was a godsend. I call it Nastelin because it leaves a horrible taste in your mouth when you use it, but you know when you sneeze like 100 times in just a couple of hours, it can really wear you out. It works for me.

My latest fad that I'm nuts about is an automatic oil diffuser that you put some water and essential oil drops in and it puts out a nice, soothing mist. I'm using an oil blend right now called Respire. It has a few ingredients including peppermint and eucalyptus and it really helps sooth the itch and crappy feeling sinuses. I've got it going right now. I also put other oils in the diffuser and I use it almost daily, it really makes a room smell nice, better than any of those silly odor things by Air Wick that are just poison.
Forgive your enemies, it messes with their heads.

Thoughts create, mind them well.

I know a woman who works at one of the National Parks here in Western North Carolina, Eastern Tennessee. She told me she had to cross a picket line to get to work a while back and when I asked why she said she works at the greenhouses for this particular Park and they were tasked with helping to eradicate the diseases that are wiping out certain tree species in the area.

To that effort, they have been crossing fish genes with the tree's DNA and have had success in sparing these trees. The unfortunate side effect is that they have now created a WHOLE NEW ALLERGY for people in the area who had previously not been allergic to the pollen from these trees. Thus the picket line!

Everyone I talk to is suffering from allergies this season, even folks who say they have never had problems with allergies before. I always think about that conversation with the park employee. Our governments are messing with nature and we are suffering the consequences!

My allergy mysteriously disappeared in the last 3 years. I've been taking a magic pill, called Zyrtec for 2 seasons. You must take it once every 24 hours during the allergy season.

Re: Anyone else having the horrid allergy attack?
Normally I'm in total misery this time of year, but I think I finally found the right stuff to help me manage the symptoms. I've been taking A. Vogel Allergy Relief (I get it on amazon) year round the past year. It's a homeopathic remedy so you need it in your system before the worst of it hits. I have tried every pharmaceutical out there and the side effects aren't worth it for me. With the A. Vogel, I'll just take one a day when things are calm and three a day when it hits (more if it's an especially bad attack). It's worked really well for me. And if I feel the bad sinus/throat junk coming on I take the Walgreens version of zicam and I haven't had a single full-blown cold or sinus infection all year...which is very unusual for me. Anywho, maybe it'll help some of you out there.
I'm a little verklempt. Talk amongst yourselves.

The last two years the tree pollen has got to me real bad. Windy days are the worst. Medicine doesn't seem to work as it has in prior years. I'm just holding on because the worst of it should be over, lots of rain on they way and nearly everything is blooming or has leaves on it. In another couple weeks I won't have any trouble until sometime in September. Every time this time of year I envious those who can roll the windows down in the car and not die they way I do.

Used to have bad allergies as a kid. Remember going in to get allergy shots. Last few years they've started coming back. These past few weeks have been horrible.

Caught some sort of a cold. Started as a scratchy throat. Proceeded to snot in nasal cavity and chest. Now I sound like Barry White!

Claritin, Zyrtec...nothing helped

Outgrew my childhood allergies to grass. Now that I'm middle aged, my allergies to tree and weeds is horrible. Doesn't help that I cook dandelion greens and flowers for dinner nearly every night......the taste is so worth the pain and fury!!

Zyrtec makes me very sleepy and I was on it taking it at night but still being kinda out of it during the day...but it works great.

this year in my area(N.Bama)zyrtec couldn't do a thing for me...lots of folks..not just me were all in pain from this years attack.

I broke down and went in ta see my Doc over this years attack...he put me on steroids,anti-biotics,inhaler,flonase,Allegra D,Musinex D.

Gave me Bronchitis like I never had before..its been a month and I still have some wheezing and a little cough..ive never been attacked like this before from spring time allergies...I just don't get them..until this year.

read on another post on this thread about the fish/tree mixing going on,maybe that shit pollen is the culprit as im not far from that area.

if this shit keeps up im moving back ta Texas!

Take Vitamin C and quercetin daily. It's best if you start before allergy season begins.

I'm not having any problems with this regimen, but I have to remember to take them daily or else I might start having problems.

My holistic doctor recommends
Xanthium Relieve Surface
[link to www.amazon.com]

Ingredients:
Xanthium Cang Er Zi
Magnolia Xin Yi
Platycodon Jie Geng
Schizandra Wei Zi
Angelica Bai Zhi
Wild Chrysanthemum Ye Ju Hua
Siler Fang Feng
Schizonepeta Jing Jie
Astragalus Huang Qi
Atractylodes Bai Zhu
Licorice Gan Cao

It seems to work fast, but doesn't last that long...
3 tablets 2 to 3 times a day, between meals.

I had NEVER had allergies before this year.
Following the Sunday of the highest pollen count in Atlanta this month,
my eyes were red and swollen - NEVER HAD THIS BEFORE.

Read the reviews at the Amazon link, mostly 5 stars

Re: Anyone else having the horrid allergy attack?
Walking around in an anti-histamine haze

They ALL make me drowsy

If I have to function, I have to use Benadryl and power through the sleepiness

If I want to breathe, I use Zyrtec but it knocks me out like boom, lights out. It isn't supposed to cause drowsiness in most people but just my luck, it really gets me. I can only take it at night and am still slow and sleepy all day the next day. Like walking under water, slow and weird.

Tried Claritin. Did nothing.

Anyway, the sore throat from all the post-nasal drip is the worst ever this year. It's literally all running down my throat this time. I mean, I'm sneezy and my nose is drippy but the worst is down my throat with sore throat and ugly cough. I can SEE it in my throat and that is just gross.

Maybe it seems worse because the weather has been moderate allowing for outdoor activities and open windows.
