Totally agree. It may also, because it is feral, keep other animals at bay like racoons and weasels. I have had cats that would posture and chase those animals...cats are very turf-oriented. They will also kill moles, rodents, etc. Unfortunately birds too, but you take the good with the bad.

I have a feral under my porch that i feed to keep rodents and stuff out and it is incredible. My neighbors all have rodents coming into their basements, but my guy kills EVERYTHING. I will be so bummed if he dies or leaves.
