Apparently you've never read about the Pharisee's. THATS WHY Jesus said to go into your prayer closet and shut the door.

Well also look at it this way, praying is finding a connection within you. Praying out loud in public can be used as a bad thing if the goal is to make you look like a "good person". Praying isn't just talking out loud. You can thank the local church for teaching kids that. But hey, if it creates a space for you to speak to the inner guide, go for it.

The secret place is where the divine spirit/Father fragment lies within your MIND. what is it going to take to get you people to grasp that god does not walk into a suit up in the sky across the clouds? He walks within you and you fail to grasp that and manifest him on this world.

Here comes my two cents.

Observing the world around me in my short 38 years on this earth, I can only come to the conclusion that...

ALL paths will be open to all people. We all have the same goal, But each will achieve it differently. We talk to God in our own ways. Some in church,some quietly in a secluded room. Some do it on a yoga mat. Some in their car, or beside a dying loved one. ALL prayers are important,no matter how people choose to do it. Don't get so hung up on the location. The messenger is always with you ready to communicate with your higher power.
do I know this?

I don't. I'm going with what my heart tells me to feel. And I feel I need to share this theory. To be fair, to others, it can only stand as a theory. But to me, it is my faith.

So I say...

pray as you wish. However and whenever you feel the need. And if you never feel like praying, dont sweat it. Not all people feel the need to check in.

To each their own.

isn't it kind of ironic that Jesus is now known the world over?

When Jesus actually prayed himself to God, he wasn't in a closet.

But he was alone by himself in the wilderness.

So the teaching, simply means to be alone when praying.

This is in contrast to the pharisees who were praying in public, and wanted attention from men, so these men would "think" they were holy.

Also when you're alone and praying, everything is likely more genuine and sincere to God, since your motive will be more pure.

Not when you consider the fact that he was, is, and always will be God. He changed the world forever and will remake it when he returns.

The closet is YOU
you go INSIDE YOU

that is where you find GOD

Jesus wants you to also use an air-conditioned room.

It's better to pray secretly than to pray out in public. It's link to spiritual warfare and how to be a prayer warrior. The prayer is a lot more stronger when you do it alone without anyone knowing in secret.
