Online pirates could face 10-year sentence as UK plans to clamp down on illegal downloads

In an attempt to clamp down on illegal downloads, the UK government is planning to introduce harsher sentences for online pirates. The new move comes in the wake of HBO sending out copyright infringement warnings to those who illegally download episodes of Game Of Thrones.

Pirates be pirating.

Ahoy me hearties, if sharing tiny tiny files with one another is a crime let them prove it.

Maritime Admiralty Law at its finest.

Now seed mofo's or walk the plank.

They already have some of the most censored internet on the planet. They won't be happy until you log in and there are only two buttons: BBC and check your government sponsored email.

The problem is too many people don't think for themself anymore. The tv and Facebook tell them how to think.

Now I get why people blame the millennials, they sit by and watch all the time.

Pre 80s the whole country stuck together.

1. Poll tax, nobody works and we protest.
2. Pay rises, nobody works and we protest
Anything that didn't sound right they stood up for.

Now the millennials only reactions are,

Shit it must be true, I'll post of Facebook, back to work in the morning.

Wow they going to lock me in a cage for 10 years along with murderes, if I download an episode of a TV show. Are they out of their fucking minds. That's a crime against humanity. They can fuck right off.
Most ppl in the UK I hear are pirating 500 channel TV via Android boxes. But still if they put this sentence on me I would kill myself, rather than go to prison I have the prime of my life for what is by any sane persons opinion a NON CRIME.

If you own a shop and you don't want people helping themselves to your goods, then try not leaving the door wide open and the alarm off at night. Because that's what hbo are doing. Insurance companies would not pay out, police would laugh. Putting somebody in a cage is not going to solve the problem.

You probably won't be able to see this, but:

"The country was listed among the "Enemies of the Internet" in 2014 by Reporters Without Borders,[6] a category of countries with the highest level of internet censorship and surveillance that "mark themselves out not just for their capacity to censor news and information online but also for their almost systematic repression of Internet users".[7] Other major economies listed in this category include China, Iran, Pakistan, Russia and Saudi Arabia."
