I thought that was the entire hold up from going any deeper that the material they were drilling through was more like sludge and magma down there melting the bits and filling in the holes when they were pulled out

you can prove for yourself that the moon is not small and close. You can either bounce a radio signal off of it and time the return or you can measure its angle in the sky at the same time as someone else in a different location and work out the distance with geometry. If you tried it you'd find you get an answer close to 250,000 miles. But I doubt you'll try it.


Then since we know it passes in front of the Sun during a solar eclipse we know the Sun is at LEAST that far away as well. so much for the flat Earth belief of 3,000 miles.

Large bodies of water have never been proven to have curvature. You can't have a globe without curve. No curve = The earth is flat.
