Washington Republican primary update: Can Donald Trump clinch the GOP nomination?

We're down to only one Republican presidential candidate but primary season marches on.

Republicans in Washington state will cast their ballots - via the mail - [link to www.spokesman.com] in the race for the GOP presidential nomination. Donald Trump is the only remaining candidate for Republicans.

The ballot actually has four Republicans listed – Trump, Ohio Gov. John Kasich, Texas Sen. Ted Cruz and retired physician Ben Carson. Kasich and Cruz dropped out after the ballots were printed; Carson hasn't notified election officials he is dropping out the race, according to The Spokesman-Review.

Forty-four delegates are available in Washington. Of those 14 will be awarded proportionally based on the result of statewide voter totals and another 30 will go to winners in the state's 10 congressional districts.

Trump currently has 1,161 delegates [link to thehill.com] 76 short of the magic number of 1,237 needed to clinch the nomination, meaning even if he picks up all of Washington's delegates he still will fall just short of the threshold. Trump will move easily past the delegate mark in the June 7 primaries in California, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico and South Dakota...

There are 44 delegates up for grabs.

The state’s 39 counties will begin reporting numbers after 8 p.m., and most will provide daily updates as more votes are processed and arrive in the mail. Results will be posted on [link to www.vote.wa.gov]

I wasn't drinking during the last 9 drinking game threads... I only maintain the "drinking game" component because it's become somewhat of a tradition & for the party atmosphere that this election season *is*.

On one of the earlier threads I didn't make it a drinking game, and was asked multiple times why... so they'll stay that way through the General.

What was the story about Cruz taking 40 delegates from Washington? Does that not matter if Trump wins tonight?

With this being a mail-in election will they be releasing any results tonight?

I've been wondering about that too. Not sure how that works.

I think it's the old story about how they'll vote for Trump the first time around but Cruz has bribed them into voting for him on the second ballot. So you see, regardless of what we are being OFFICIALLY told by rinsed penis, this is proof that they ARE planning on having more than one ballot count at the Convention. Those snakes!
