Vegan & Vegetarian does NOT mean healthy!
This is NOT knocking vegan or vegetarian (not eating animals). It is simply stating that being vegan or vegetarian does not mean healthy and this video explains why. Bread is not found in nature, neither is cooked food. people who eat wheat and flour products like bread, pasta, pizza, cereal and other refined dead foods end up withe everything from diabetes and weight problems to kidney failure, irritable bowel, Crohn's disease, candida and heart problems. Many people need to understand this. Lots of my vegetarian friends are dying because they have no clue what real health is. This important video explains what to do and how.

Yup, about half of the people that go vegetarian eat a full Italian diet containing flour, cheese, and lots and lots of garlic butter. The point of going VEGETARIAN is to eat more VEGGIES and less meat! Doh'!

Vegetarians and Vegans are two different things. Vegetarians are normal people who just don't want to kill animals, wjile Vegans are fucked up crazies who won't eat anything that is produced by animals. Feel the difference, or too dumb?

True, I am vegan and people automatically assume I am the healthiest person alive. No no, not even close. Half of the things I eat to get my 150 g of protein a day is processed. Not so healthy...lol.

Then go ahead. Nobody is stopping you from eating bread, pasta, and all the other things mentioned in the video. Just sharing information here. Be well.

I hate this stereotype. I am vegan because I simply take vegetarianism to the next level and don't eat dairy or eggs...on top of not eating meat products. That's all. Stop spreading the hate and stereotype with the word "vegan". It's not always the truth...though a lot of them are very annoying and give us a bad name, I must admit. But there are normal ones out there. :)

yup there are vegan sources for complete proteins. vegans can fulfill micro-nutrient and caloric needs with a dietary plan, just as omnivores can. meat is just easy proteins. we're not far off from cell cultured meat. mass produced protein isolates for vegetarians and vegans exist and are well utilized for prices cheaper than conventional chicken meat by the pound going by protein content.

it's not like animal fats and proteins give any more calories than plant or mushroom sources when metabolized. the amino acid profiles may differ but are otherwise complete.

this is very much a first world debate. most of the world goes to bed at night hungry not sure their next meal will be there. if a pill existed condense the day's worth of caloric and macro/micro nutrient needs, it would be nothing short of a miracle and we'd pack tons on-board for prolonged trips into space.

thats the evolutionary argument. it's not about what we evolved from, which is humbling and gruesome all at the same time, but the cataclysmic events to come, and how the species overcomes.

It amazes me how little people understand about nutrition. There is not and will never ever be any pill comparable to natural foods. Go ahead and eat synthetic food. You can play God all you want. Nature is perfect, men is not. You can't compare meat and vegetable sources of protein which provide folate, carotenoids, flavonoids, and other phytochemicals. Meat doesn't offer any of that. Meat offers you disease and an early death. On average, plant foods have 64 times more antioxidant power than red meat, poultry, fish, dairy, and eggs. And even if meat was healthy... I wouldn't eat it. Luckily, it's not.

I know many people who are vegan or vegetairan. Many you can spot as looking pale and unhealthy.

But my favorite "vegetrian" was my ex SIL who ate no meat, but never passed up bacon. Yeah. I am a carnivore. I will eat meat.

it's a hypothetical and allusion to the holy grail. i wouldn't consider it out of the realm of possibility. all im saying is that if something like that is done with a healthy conscious and released in abundance would it solve a lot of problems and free up a lot of energy and human potential.

Re: Vegan & Vegetarian does NOT mean healthy!
as for cell cultured meat, yeah it is synthesized but there are probably more impurities in conventional meat. i say probably because biochemical protein regents tend to be quite pure regardless of industry grading. if that industry reaches critical mass and economic parity, think of how much water and crop space can be displaced going to feed factory farm livestock.

Staying away from food that has seen the inside of a factory would help most people.

No matter what they eat.

I am vegan, the title of this thread is absolutely true.

you can be 'vegan' and eat oreos and drink coke all day.

luckily there are plenty of healthful vegan food options around, you just need to educate yourself if you decide eating ethically is for you.

there is remarkable evidence that eating a plant based whole food diet free from animal products, very healthy and in some cases can prevent and reverse disease.

watch this video if genuinely interested:

Re: Vegan & Vegetarian does NOT mean healthy!
Yes people apparently assume vegetarian to mean "Only eats vegetables".

I blow their minds when I remind them "Vegetarian Food" = French Fries and most the regular processed shit we all love and enjoy.

The other day I was at the local Chik-Fil-A fast food grabbing a signature sandwich without the chicken patty. This consists of a bun, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, cheese and the sauce of one's liking. I wrapped it up with a large fry to boot, and when I arrived at the window I was asked by the cashier with a large grin on her face,

"Do you mind telling me what you are going to do with this?"

:o

I was like, eat it... it's a sandwich... I think perhaps my immediately observable population of American Society is meat brainwashed.

Also, I think it kind of goes without saying that there are unhealthy on this planet that don't contain traces of corpses. Isn't this kind of a duh sort of thing? Like think of all the candy one could shove in their mouths, all that vegetarian chocolate. And the bread, yeah, carbohydrates to the max.

Re: Vegan & Vegetarian does NOT mean healthy!
actually the true diet for humans is called frugivour mainly fruit with some vegetable and the odd insect thrown in. this is the same type of diet as a mountain gorilla and other great apes. try telling a gorilla that hes not getting enough protein......
