Levie, have you analyzed the vision images from my cerebral cortex as I requested?

"Yes M?"

Please give me a read out of your findings?

"There is a 99.799% chance you have see at least a glimpse of future events. While it is predicable that your mental functions would have expected a nuclear level explosion somewhere on Earth's surface the image your mind matched to the actual event was identical to a location you have never seen previously."

Levie, Can you give me any reason this has occurred?

"There is insufficient data and causal relationships to establish proximate cause of your experience."

Can you conjecture a cause?

"There are persons in the literature (specifically ancient texts) that were alleged to have such capabilities. These persons were called prophets or seers and were celebrated and revered for their abilities and punished severely if they were ever wrong."

Sounds wonderful . . . right now this is just between you and me, Levie!

"Understood M."

Wish I had a good vision to tell me what to do next. The Earth is being changed forever and I can do nothing but watch in horror.

The life and death of Mona Lisa on the Moon ."The Alterwelt Chronicles". . 32,000 years in the making!!!!

Mona's visions were now very sporadic and seemed more symbolic than usual. Probably because she was not capable of processing more destruction than the intelligence reports were showing. Maybe they were to give her some hope in these dark hours. Maybe a glimpse of a better future?

:SettleNursery:

It seemed it was telling her (through the images of her mother) that a new civilization would eventually rise from the old. Not to give up but continue on the plotted course . . . the Dragonfly the symbol of Leviathan was ever present. Always, near for help and support.

The day the flickering flame died. . .

101

The life and death of Mona Lisa on the Moon ."The Alterwelt Chronicles". . 32,000 years in the making!!!!

The day arrived that Mona had dreaded. The Leviathan had made the sling shot maneuver around Mars and made the historical transfer of the last 1,000 Mars based people from ship to ship at full speed. The transfer ship was then scuttled and left adrift between Mars and Ceres. One more artifact that one day might be rediscovered by future generations.

Then it came . . . or really didn't come more correctly. There was no intelligence update transmission from Earth. Nothing.

The last flickering flame from the hearth of the highest human civilization had died. This day will be remembered as long as survivors exist from the Earth's brush with suicidal extinction.

Everyone was devastated by the realization. There would be no turning back probably for centuries. Everyone had to look to the future they would scrape out of the confines of their new world. They would possibly attempt terraforming Mars after the threat of the AA was known to be no more but that is as far as anyone could or would speculate.

I love you for keeping the A C alive and for organizing the info. You are great!! I have to admit, though, that after 200 and something pages I wanted to hit your running animal to knock him out. He became very distracting.

If you are still keeping track of stuff I would love a list of what they didn't know. They seem so out of touch with society. Thanks again. You did a great job.

The life and death of Mona Lisa on the Moon ."The Alterwelt Chronicles". . 32,000 years in the making!!!!

Before Mona had left the soil of Earth, for the last time, she was told she would be in command of the survivors headed for Ceres. It was on her young shoulders that the fate of some 146,000 plus people would fall. Nothing, I mean nothing, had prepared her for this task.

Levie, status report please?

"All life support parameters are within survival limits. Speed and direction constant. Arrival in vicinity of Ceres estimated to be within three Earth weeks. Contact has been made with Ceres. Ceres requests any news from Earth Command . . . I reported negative contact or instructions."

The life and death of Mona Lisa on the Moon ."The Alterwelt Chronicles". . 32,000 years in the making!!!!

On what is left of Earth's human civilization the end seems just a matter of time. All communications are destroyed or inhibited by man made EMP. Anything above ground is in ruin or burning. The stars are no longer visible and if they were the familiar Orbiting Habitats (six in all) that seemed to float above the horizon for 1,000 years are now just a memory.

Much of the Earth will soon crash head long into a nuclear winter after all the fire storms burn themselves out.

The rotational speed of the Earth was permanently slowed because of the fierce bombardment from the World Alliance's attempt to destroy Atlantis (the home of the Black Magicians) a continental sized landmass in the Atlantic . . .

The plan to disembark on Ceres

106
2,269

The life and death of Mona Lisa on the Moon ."The Alterwelt Chronicles". . 32,000 years in the making!!!!

Levie, please display the disembarking plan for once we reach Ceres.

"Yes, M."

"The Mother Ships will remain in orbit with their passengers until we have unload and store all the supplies and cargo. That will allow the people to move into the enormous cargo holds, spread out and live a more normal life until they can be relocated to Ceres' interior."

What is your estimate on the move from the ships to Ceres?

"A total of 6.5 years . . . M."

Wow! That seems a long time Levie. Why so long?

"Our estimates are based on the stabilization of Ceres interior ecosystem. There is a fragile balance between the aqua-forming efforts and the disruption caused by the colonists. Also, it will take time for our survivors to adjust to the bio-luminescence light sources and the water environment as well as the food source . . . all will be psychologically taxing as well."

What are your estimates for the carrying capacity of the Ceres ecosystem regarding the optimum number of humans?

"The maximum optimal human capacity is estimated to be 10.2 Million people within no earlier than 100 years."

That sounds better than I thought! Fantastic!

The life and death of Mona Lisa on the Moon ."The Alterwelt Chronicles". . 32,000 years in the making!!!!

Dr Sue Grammar Professor of Antiquities and World Alliance War Planning Committee Member was balled up in a tight fetal position in the shower stall of her private apartment. Considering thoughts of suicide.

"What the hell did I do, she screamed! Sure, be a patriot, step up and be the mother of a new civilization. Save mankind from extinction. I believed my own trite propaganda. I volunteered for this, first in line to be permanently modified . . . God, this sucks!!!"

Sue was having Menstrual cramps, the scourge of woman every month since the great global war some 32,000 years ago. Before the genetic engineered change, women had one ovulation per year, now women ovulate once a month.

Sue was now and had been in an underground shelter for five months which was designed for the leaders of the World Alliance to maintain communication with the assumed surviving assets of the dwindling Alliance. It was coincidence she was there at all. She was simply on a tour with other War Planning Committee members when Atlantis first strike obliterated Space Jump City. She was a lucky woman though presently in much agony. 3,000,000 people had died on the surface in a matter of seconds.

Dr Sue Grammar was the key to the destruction of the AA's Elite . . .

108
2,329

The life and death of Mona Lisa on the Moon ."The Alterwelt Chronicles". . 32,000 years in the making!!!!

The AA's Black Magicians were mesmerized by their own power. Their dark ceremonies with the Lower Sphere Entities had made them paranoid of their own people but dismissive of the weak and cowardly World Alliance. Never thinking once that the peace loving pacifists and people lovers could organize and execute (with precision) military and strategic campaigns.

Dr Grammar as an exchange scholar with the AA for several years had kept her ears open when any discussion occurred about the findings of advanced technology, her specialty. Before she was asked to leave the AA she was aware the AA was sending her counterparts to six locations world wide which had similar energy field fluctuations from space ground surveys. These fluctuating fields had a specific frequency and were predictable.

On return Sue had done her own surveys from the Habitat Ground Survey Research Center. She had detected a seventh (7th) less frequent, weaker and sporadic field signature within a mountain range. All other sites had been either submerged or in non mountainous areas.

8,000 years of Peace makes people weak and stupid

109
2,362

The life and death of Mona Lisa on the Moon ."The Alterwelt Chronicles". . 32,000 years in the making!!!!

It was the Black Magicians who had decided the long absence of war was not desirable. To them the human race had ceased to progress when in fact it was at its peak both physically and mentally supporting amazing diversity and cultural freedoms.

Because of the weaknesses caused by lack of struggle the Atlantis Alliance could easily take over and enforce their version of a super race. They abhorred diversity and wanted one racial and ethnic group. This group they named the Aryans. Aryans would rule the Earth as was their right; all other groups and races would be eliminated, enslaved or worse.

Their studies and research regarding antiquities was censored to prove only the Pre-Aryan peoples were advanced and civilized.

It became painfully obvious to the non Aryan people of Earth that 8,000 years of peace was quickly coming to an end.

The World Alliance looking weak and ineffective to the AA but had been planning for years and had many computer models predicting the inevitable. The World Alliance would not go down without a fight.

The life and death of Mona Lisa on the Moon ."The Alterwelt Chronicles". . 32,000 years in the making!!!!

Dr Sue Grammar reported her findings to the appropriate authorities and an analysis was done by the Doctors Lisa at the Moon Research Center with the powerful and most advanced semi-sentient AI entity in the Alliance (Leviathan's twin sister or maybe more appropriate her older sister). Moonbeam as she was affectionately called confirmed the correlation with the six other Ancient Technology sites.

The Alliance was now in business. They might in one discovery catch up to the AA (and what was just as important) without AA's knowledge.

The life and death of Mona Lisa on the Moon ."The Alterwelt Chronicles". . 32,000 years in the making!!!!

Dr Grammar was brought to the Mountain Top Ancient Facility. It was immediately apparent the sporadic energy fluxes detected were due to the unpredictable switching on and off of a shield and a projected 3d hologram that disguised the facility.

Within the facility were signs in ancient script which translated to "Olympia home of the ????" (Whatever). Dr Grammar was able to translate a panel which appeared to signify warehouse. Simply a hand moved over a sensor opened an enormous cavern full of equipment and a wall of what appeared to be pellets suspended between two electromagnets. These pellets were simply floating suspended in mid air.

Dr Grammar continued the investigation and found what appeared to be an image projector of some type. She accidentally switched it on and the following image appeared.

The life and death of Mona Lisa on the Moon ."The Alterwelt Chronicles". . 32,000 years in the making!!!!

Ben and Peggy Lisa were shutting down Moonbeam so she could be safely transported from the Moon to an unknown location on Earth. This location as was communicated to the Doctors Lisa was a mystery of the first order. They were to travel with Moonbeam and reboot her on arrival at the final destination.

"Doctors Lisa . . . how long will I sleep?"

Just till we get you relocated . . . two to three days probably.

As the Doctors were finalizing the shutdown a team of strangely uniformed persons entered the pressurized Moon based habitat. These individuals did not speak but were calm and deliberate. Neither Ben nor Peggy could recognize their race or ethnicity.

That is the last thing they remembered because they were now just as asleep as Moonbeam.

Dr Ben Lisa was the first to stir and was looking out a viewing window but could not believe his eyes. As one of the top scientists in the World Alliance he did not know what he was seeing much less where he was. He looked to the left and Peggy was laying back comfortably in a lounging chair of sorts. The life and death of Mona Lisa on the Moon ."The Alterwelt Chronicles". . 32,000 years in the making!!!!

Jim Jimmerson from the Space Legal Counsel's Office knocked on Dr Grammar's door.

"Sue are you available for a meeting with the War Planning Committee? We are updating all the status reports? "

Yea, sure give me a minute . . . Sue thought . . . God, my abdominal cavity feels like? Like? Like? No words can explain. . . Geeeezeee!

Jim, I'll meet you there in five minutes.

"OK Sue, they are anxious to talk about phase III of the War Plan."

Sue collected herself, put on the shelter designated jumpsuit and proceeded to the conference facility.

When Sue walked in everyone was seated in two rows facing a wall sized image screen. Sue found a seat in the back row as the meeting began.

Jim Jimmerson was standing to one side of the screen and began.

"Members of the War Planning Committee . . . it appears 99% of the hostilities have ended. The toll to our Alliance and to the Atlantis Alliance is staggering. Of the estimated human Earth population of some 500,000,000 souls our projections indicate an eighty percent death rate. With another fifty percent of those to perish in the next six weeks. Meaning only 50,000,000 people are expected to be alive at that time. Are there any questions so far?"

"Ecological destruction is almost as staggering. It is estimated there was a 70% loss of life sustaining ecosystems on the land surfaces and a 40% loss in a composite of all aquatic environments."

The life and death of Mona Lisa on the Moon ."The Alterwelt Chronicles". . 32,000 years in the making!!!!

"In most areas of the globe the climate will change from the previous norms into a nuclear winter phase that will move the ice sheets to the extremes never before seen on the Earth's surface before. Unless, we shelter and protect selected groups of survivors, humans will become almost extinct on the surface. These conditions could last from 100 - 1,000 years depending on location and in some cases forever."

On the positive side . . .

"1) many of the apex predators that pray on humans have also died 2) the Atlantis Alliance is no longer a threat to humanity, the Black Magicians have all been eliminated. Primarily because of their own arrogance. 3) our underground shelters, under water shelters are operational and functioning. "

Unknowns:

"We have lost contact with the off world evacuees headed for our station on Ceres commanded by Captain Lisa and the Leviathan. This is our limitation and may not indicate any problem on their end; however, Dr Ben and Peggy Lisa have disappeared along with Moonbeam and we have no idea where they have gone except to say they are no longer at the Moon Research Center. The life and death of Mona Lisa on the Moon ."The Alterwelt Chronicles". . 32,000 years in the making!!!!

The Doctors Lisa arrived at their destination and were overwhelmed by most things they were seeing. This under sea facility was enormous and was surrounded by marine life everywhere. This was nothing either the Atlantis Alliance nor the World Alliance could have constructed or maintained even with their advanced technologies.

The two scientists were ushered into a well appointed holding room not unlike a conference room. They waited there like a couple of 50 year olds being disciplined for a prank they pulled in school.

"Ben . . . do you think we are going to survive this?"

"Well they don't seem to be threatening or hungry or anything . . . but who knows . . . I guess they could feed us to the fish."

As their curiosity and anxiety grew minute by minute the door finally opened at the opposite end of the room where they had entered. A slim attractive female wearing something resembling a bright colored wet suit came confidently in and sat down at the far end of the conference table and smiled at the two scientists seated opposite her.

Ben and Peggy watched her every move and smiled in return.

The woman started talking in a melodic voice with an unfamiliar accent.

"Welcome, you have been invited here and are the first surface people to be so invited in over 8,000 years."

Mona was reading the status reports regarding the aquatic life being transported from the upper hold of Leviathan to the interior of Ceres. When suddenly the odor and light flash blinded her.

"Oh, crap here we go again!"

What she saw next, she mistook as a premonition of the future of Ceres.

"The two of you are not prisoners but not quite guests either. You have been rescued from probable death on the Moon. In fact, the Moon Research Center was (just seconds after we left with the three of you) obliterated by the Atlantis Alliance and what they didn't do the World Alliance finished off."

"Do not be concerned about Moonbeam she is perfectly safe here. If the truth be known she is the reason you are here."

The life and death of Mona Lisa on the Moon ."The Alterwelt Chronicles". . 32,000 years in the making!!!!

Sue was shocked at the status of the world she had known and loved. She might never see or hear from her dear friend Mona, Mona's parents and of course her sleeping buddy from the AA.

All she knew was she still had duties to perform and now children to make and raise to preserve the species. At least the sick leadership of the Atlantis Alliance had been eliminated but at what a dear, dear cost to all of humanity.

When the meeting was ending she was recognized as the single person most responsible for the demise of the Black Magicians and their Aryan Super Race Agenda.

With one hand she helped to destroy and now with the other hand she will have to build a new future for the human race. But right now all she could feel was the cramps in her abdomen. "When the Hell are these going to stop!"

Ben and Peggy now more relaxed with their present situation and begin to feel like they could ask a question.

Peggy ventured . . . What is your name and where are we?

"My name is Silver and you are in a place of legend in your culture. This particular facility has been here since before the first high human civilization fell some 30,000 years ago. We were there then and we have again witnessed the destruction of your world.
