Bryce was my daughter's friend. My daughter is 13 years old. Bryce was 15 years old. They were good friends. Lol, she actually had a major crush on him.

He took his own life last Friday. : (

He shot himself. He was being bullied.

I was always that girl who stood up for people being bullied.

When I was in high school, my junior year, 'friends' of mine showed up in the bathroom at school and started on a freshman girl who was in the bathroom.

I didn't care for her either, but would never pick on her or threaten her. That is just not my style.

When my 'friends' started to pick a fight with the poor thing I stepped right in. Screw my so-called friends. I will never just stand around while someone is being bullied.

Ever. This goes back to grade school. I have always done what I can to protect those being picked on.

It's very sad and does so much damage. Many don't see it that way.

My parents raised me properly. That shit doesn't happen in front of me.

My daughter gets embarrassed sometimes because I just won't allow it in my presence and I speak up.

And the reason I do is because it can result in what my daughter is now going through.

She lost a friend, who was in too much pain to deal with life, didn't have the coping skills I suppose...but regardless, he is now gone. His parents, family and friends now suffer.

Just heartbreaking.
