I do think it is important to be clear in what you are claiming - and claiming that there was a site use policy when you became a member that stated certain features would be provided for you, a policy that has been revoked at a whim, is misleading.

In all fairness 2X, nothing was ever said about the status quo changing. The proposed enhancements concerned the ability to activate the "ban immunity", the ability to pin one's own threads, the ability to download personal "smileys", the use of a possible GLP e-mail address and, if memory serves me well, that was about it.

At no time, was there any indication that the features which were currently in place for the use of registered members, would be removed. And that is our biggest "gripe" with what has so suddenly occurred in the last several hours.

Good luck Op! You WILL be missed!

the personal AV was also one of the features Trin included in this list of features. The PM's is the only thing I can not remember being discussed.

At least offer a more polished interface before you start charging money. Take a look at how it's really done:

I couldn't care less about the personalised AVs not being available to non-paying members (if you recall, until earlier today I too had one, so that's not an issue) but the PM function is a "must" as far as I'm concerned. (What remains of the former member's log-on info box at the left of the screen is now nothing more than "Member's Area" (for changing personal details and AVs if desired) and the "Log-out" icon. Sorry 2X ....... not very impressive in my books.

I understand the PM's are important to you, and there are a lot of people complaining about the AV's and say they could care less about the PM's. Everyone wants what they consider important to remain - and to remain for free. I never expect to get anything for free, or feel that it is owed to me. So I am surprised that so many do.

Ten bucks a month for what boils down to having your own custom avatar and for PMing? Few people will pay that for those features and they know it. Sounds to me they want to discourage PM's for some reason.

It shouldn't surprise you too much 2X because we didn't see this coming ........ we're the ones who are surprised (and unpleasantly at that) at the moment.

cheers thunder/horror.

all good things must end i'm afraid. you guys rock.

take care.

you do realize that you can keep posting as a registered member and not pay a single penny?

so this good thing doesn't HAVE to end.

I guess this changed in an instant too, huh? Was there an announcement, or were the registered accounts just "undone" as a Christmas surprise?

I pay five bucks a month to subscribe to Prison Planet. I do it to support Alex Jones, because I want him to have an income and keep doing what he does. I would never pay to post on a forum! This forum doesn't give anything to the posters - it's the REVERSE. Those numbers in the upper left corner don't apply, anymore, either. 8000+ "members"? uh-uh. That was the OLD GLP. The new one has over 100 who pay, and the rest are just regular posters. I think the whole purpose of this is to make some immediate cash; see how well the experiment works; and to create an attractive item for sale. On this site, the posters provide the content. On all other pay for membership sites, THE SITE provides content by those who run it, like Alex Jones.

Exactly, 2X.

And it's not like you can't have an avatar.

Shit your original one is still in the gallery. Go get it.

What's the problem here?

I think not so. (You have attempted to access a feature that's restricted to enhanced member accounts.)
