Jury finds Led Zeppelin did not steal intro to rock epic 'Stairway to Heaven'
A Los Angeles jury has decided the band Led Zeppelin did not steal the opening to its classic anthem "Stairway to Heaven."

The federal jury reached its verdict Thursday, settling a point that music fans have debated for decades but didn't find its way to court until two years ago.

The trust for the late songwriter Randy Wolfe claimed Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page and singer Robert Plant stole a riff from Wolfe's 1968 instrumental "Taurus" recorded with the band Spirit.

I heard the two songs played simultaneously and yeah, they ripped it off.

That's ridiculous, my illusions were shattered when I found out Led Zeppelin had pretty much plagiarised their whole first album.

How did they reassemble the "OJ" jury again?

You clearly have never listened to pop songs much, there are countless thousands of songs that are very similar to each other. This is the way music is created.

Theres little chance you could create a totally original piece that its also catchy and pleasing to the ear.

If the court would have ruled Led Zeppelin stole, then they would have opened the biggest can of worms in history.

page admitted it at one time. they were on tour with taurus when taurus played it nd adapted the song.
But, regardless, there's no doubt page was a thief, stole plenty of songs.

Re: Jury finds Led Zeppelin did not steal intro to rock epic 'Stairway to Heaven'
The part they are talking about it was definitely stolen. They are exactly the dame and it is the main verse riff of the song.

Zeppeling ripped off a bunch of people. They just had more talent and did the songs better. True story. Had they simply paid the people for the use of the riffs, everyone would have been happy.

Boooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

Rip off. Hate people who copy others. Zeppelin has awesome originals but some of their big hits are total rip-offs. Jury was just starstruck by Page and Plant. Starfucker pussies.
