Russia warns a country not to join NATO or else if they want to? Like they're the real rulers of Finland?? This kid of behavior is exactly why Finland wants to join most likely. Russia creates it's own damned problems. You can't tell another country it can't join NATO or else. It's not your country Putin.

If Finland joins NATO then they will do like all the other countries on Russia's border's did and bring in NATO missiles.

But the real point here is that when the USSR broke up the U.S. and NATO made an agreement with Russia and said they would not expand into the former Soviet republics or expand into their "sphere of influence".

Of course the U.S. rarely keeps any treaty they agree on. Like the Indians said "White devils speak with forked tongue".

"Imagine that Finland were to join NATO. That would mean that Finland's defense forces would no longer be independent, rather part of a NATO infrastructure extending up to Russia's border," he [Putin] said.

Putin added that in such a situation things would change. He let it be understood that in this case Russian troops would no longer stay 1500 kilometres back from the Finnish border, as they do now.

The Russian president went on to say that even so, Russia would respect a decision by the Finns, since it is Finland's own decision to make.
