What is it about dishonesty that drives you f'n crazy???

Had an Irish buddy in H.S.
His father would always say 'a liar is a thief, and a thief is a liar'. Never forgot that.
I think they meant thief of trust. Once trust is lost there is nothing left.

This makes good sense AC! I always think too...I will trust someone until they give me a reason not to!

What drives me crazy is...

there should be no reason to be dishonest in the first place, and if you still choose to be dishonest you're a pussy

Of course there are situations where promises and secrets must be kept, but in general... you can usually tell when someone is being dishonest and when that happens, it proves they're being an idiot

Simpler if a person just says I can't talk about that... or something similar, why waste time with bullshit

It's more frustrating if you are an ethical, honest and trustworthy person.

You hit a really important thought there. It is painfully frustrating...to say the least!

Generally, it's the fact that you can't see it coming. Secondly, it becomes the lowest common denominator, if one cheats then cheating becomes the preserve of all. I don't like my standards compromised by someone who has none.

On the political level the use of secret services is a poison to democracy and open government. In the US this is becoming a clear hazard as the public are unaware of the agenda of the secret services to the extent that if those services have been infiltrated by foreign sources you're own secret services may turn out to be the vehicle of your demise.

They used to torture and execute spies out of hand. That penalty ought to be on the job description.

Dishonesty leaves no repect as you cannot respect anybody through deceit. Honesty, respect for yourself and others go hand in hand and plays a major role towards happiness/harmony in your life.

WOW! WELL SAID! I had someone say "I can't talk about that" crap, and that made me think that they're hiding something, not communicating...therefore, not trustworthy, (not fostering trust and truth)...then felt there was no friendship...
