Thanks "Affordable Care Act" I lost my doctor of 22 years
Yeah, thanks to my leaders I didn't get to keep my doctor I liked. Just got dumped by the office one day before my insurance's new year in July kicked in. Now searching for a competent doc and the earliest appointment is in 3 months.

I have work related health insurance by BCBS but apparently it isn'the paying enough.
I feel like a homeless person. Now I have to hit the urgent care facilities for my medication prescription refills.

Can't wait for the Presidential vote in November!!!!!5a

Re: Thanks "Affordable Care Act" I lost my doctor of 22 years
I hear you, I lost my Dr right before the "Affordable Care Act" started. He's from Canada and told all his patients beforehand this was seriously a horrible idea and wouldn't work. He went with the MDVIP route to avoid being part of "Affordable Care Act". I can't afford the membership for that and he had to limit his practice to certain number to be part of that.

Keep looking around, I found a $40 wellness clinic that operates like an urgent care. Its better than nothing I suppose and there if I need it.

BCBS is in deep doo-doo. They are letting go a majority of their workforce, and outsourcing the jobs. Even their webmaster is getting the axe.

I wonder how many times this story and others like it are being repeated across the US.

My neighbor just dislocated her shoulder. Her insurance now has a huge deductible, so the treatment she needs is all out of pocket. Before Obamacare, she'd have been covered.

Revolution, anyone?

The cost of health care in this country is ridiculous. Get a Tylenol in the hospital and it will cost you $15.00

These megalithic health care institutions care only about profits.

These health insurance companies care only about profits.

While everyone is complaining about ACA the CEO of Unitedhealthcare made $66 million in 2014.

The CEO of Blue Cross made $57 million in 2014.

After 22 years he still makes you pay everything and won't cut you a deal. Not sure if that was a "good" doctor to begin with..

Lost the pediatrician.
Lost the "ladies doc".
Daughter lost approval for asthma meds; deemed non-formulary and unnecessary (i.e. too expensive)
Rx costs are full priced at generic cost. ..goes toward deductible.

Every year they take away something, yet premiums rise. This is for Aetna, private coverage, and we've never had an illness beyond colds.

Thanks, legislators. Complicit liars.

OP - They're just trying to get you to go to a doctor that doesn't charge so much money. They are trying to save you money via "affordable care act". It's good that they help you.

Lost my doc about 9 months back.

Now have to figure out who is taking patients and of those who is NOT from India or other foreign country that doesn't give a shit about women.

Wait list at all is about two months.

Pay cash?? Nope, have asked around.

Get this, doctors will not take cash....I have never in my entire life heard this. But ran into it while calling multiple offices.

But I had someone in the insurance billing department explain this to me.

If a patient pays cash and there is something that this patient needs to be seen for - if they find high blood pressure that needs to be treated or whatnot. The insurance will not come in AFTER the diagnosis and pick up the tab. The patient will need to always pay out of pocket for that diagnosis.

So yea it is all a fuck up.

Seems to me like this "affordable care act" is screwing a lot of people over. All I can say is I'm glad we have the NHS. Although not for much longer if the tories have their way. My son has had a few health problems & hospital stays this year & I wonder how much it would have cost in a different country. Health care should be free in so called developed countries. God knows you pay enough in taxes.

I pay cash at the doctors for a reduced cost to me. The cost at my one doctor's office is actually a few dollars less than my co-pay when I had the insurance coverage.
There are plenty of doctors who take cash. Ask around.

Isn't it really your doctor is being greedy? Or you're too cheap or too poor to pay the difference? Why blame Obamacare for your woes? OP, perhaps there's something you're not doing to remedy the situation.
