When I was a young man, I was traveling from Waco, Texas to Corpus Christi, Texas.

Along the way, my truck broke down on the freeway. I coasted off of the freeway and into the nearest auto shop I could find.

Turned out to be a couple of old black men sitting out front.

They could not have been more helpful and friendly and entertaining throughout my short visit with them.

They diagnosed and replaced my alternator, while talking about about my "carbenator" and my "transmixer" and whatever other colloquialisms they could throw out there.

It was quite a good time actually. Again, more good people.
