What I'm about to say may not be politically correct. I do not have children because I always knew I was not physically strong enough to carry them let alone raise them properly. I've been through several car accidents and work related injuries that were not my fault and it's been quite a struggle to take care of just myself. I never wanted to be a burden to anyone else.

Welfare was originally designed for those who did everything right but underwent a family tragedy such as a man who died way too young in a car accident and insurance didn't suffice. I wish there was a way to put everyone on permanent birth control until they can prove they're financially and emotionally prepared to raise a child.

Yes there are poor women who with the aid of their giving relatives do a far, far better job then the rich so it's not just about money. Shame when abortion is used as a form of birth control instead of preventative measures. Social Services will NOT take a child away from a parent UNLESS it's a case of SEVERE neglect or repeated sexual and physical abuse. There's not enough places besides jail to put them. Parental rights means they have countless chances.
