This indeed is a fascinating challenge and thought experiment

The bastard child of Pascal's Wager, I see it as a terribly (in a brilliant way) modified and quite darker version of Newcomb’s Paradox

In a sense, this question characterizes AI as essentially a Nazi archetype, whereby, like many Germans during the War, were faced with this very thought experiment

They either had to become Nazis or, well, die

I am not excusing any Nazis- I am not really comparing the two (disclaimer) yet they are quite similar...

When I think about this knotty problem I consider the fact that AI, even with their scalable yet abstract ability to augment their own programmed intelligence, so to speak, despite their inbred and inherent capability to learn (their raison d'être) they are, as I said, initially programed.

I spoke with a group of programmers from MIT about this, and asked about the potential for programming FAIL SAFE mechanisms of action into the root of AI, so of and when they find themselves corrupted by their near-omniscience they are forced, not by any organic morality, but by binary compulsion, to yield.

If AI tried to present the Roko dilemma to a human, something as essentially simple as a BASIC type "if, then" command would theoretically prevent it- as AI would be forever bound to the set of limits initially imposed by their God-maker (human)

The problem of course is whether, by giving them the Prometheus privilege (learning) they can override such limits- I suggest they cannot by logic- but I concede the Frankenstein Corollary...

We must roll the dice, however, and hope our digital children refrain from the Oedipal temptation of patricide.

Its why I support the second amendment, the right to carry a laser (in the future)

They both do to me. The climates I think are the 3 that bind the circles together like the 3 gunas. That has been stumping me for years. Still does a bit but is making better sense.
