Just throwing this out there, there is more to love than sex. I'd rather see my love safe and happy for the rest of her life than ever worry about sex, but perhaps the writer is lamenting this fact that she is no longer alive, that all he has left now of her is memories and a crypt. |

Maybe like a dog that can't leave his master's grave. Yeah, but he's actually getting in the tomb. I think Poe had a subtle but perverse sense of humor that's often lost on modern readers. |
