The power structure is evil. It lies, cheats, and steals to gain and economic mating advantage - as a survival mechanism. There is plenty of good out there, but it is blind. Unless there is a great awakening and resulting race war nothing will change.

It's because your memory of where you are from is of the future. It's not an imitation exactly. It just is becoming what it is destined to be, and hasn't quite figured out the big picture yet so is fumbling around unsure of the goal.

The current leaders don't have the vision

By your words I can tell that you do but are unclear about what's going on inside of your mind and in the way you experience the world around you.

Telepathy is being implemented slowly so that if plan A doesn't pan out as desired then the current leaders will have access to the vision via an audio supply of conversation. Plan B is to insure that future comes to pass. And it will because plan C doesn't take no for an answer.

Live long enough to see it.
