There was no chance of the kid's brain recovering. That's what dead means. There was no oxygen to the kid's brain for over 49 minutes. Even 4 minutes without oxygen kills your brain dead forever.

These demons would have killed my mother 20 years ago when she was on life support for six months. My grandmother and I stopped them from pulling the plug. She's still alive today. If they had killed her, she would have missed out on 8 grandchildren. Also, there's a good chance I would have never recovered from a severe testing in my life a few years after she came out of her coma one week after I told them to not pull the plug.
