Anonymous Coward User ID: 70431879 United States 08/28/2016 06:36 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I sweat profusely - I get dizzy and almost feel like I will pass out. My entire body wants to shake. I can't sign my own name until after 12 pm. I am 61 yrs old, my father died of diabetes at the age of 60. Quoting: GUAM USA Now here is the kicker. I drink vodka every day - never to get drunk - but, I do every day to calm the symptoms above. These are not hangovers they are nothing I've ever felt before. And the god damn itchys ! Have you destroyed your liver with alcohol? Are you jaundiced. Diabetes makes you thirsty, eat a lot, but loose weight, urinate a lot. Liver damage makes you itch. |

I lost 10 pounds in the last few months. I drink about a gallon of water a day but always with vodka - because I don't itch and I don't get dizzy. So is it am an alcoholic or is it because I became a diabetic? Perhaps both? |

When your blood sugar gets low bad things happen. Your brain shuts down, have trouble thinking an talking, making words and putting them into sentences, you are lucky to get one word out. You lose the ability to control your body temperature. You get cold and start shaking. The shaking turns to seizures and then into a coma. You can be revived by taking sugar at anytime up to the coma stage. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 72664730 Canada 08/28/2016 07:00 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | OP, do you pee alot and are you thirsty all the time? Those are indicators of diabetes. If you're still in the pre diabetic stage, you can avoid it altogether simply by making lifestyle changes. Take actions to increase your sensitivity to insulin, excercize regularly, and cut out all alcohol. You are NOT doomed by your genes, not at all, so good luck! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 71669096 United States 08/28/2016 07:06 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I lost my best friend at 36... he drank Vodka very often and those hard ciders every day, He was a great guy but the drink got him... He was Diabetic and could not afford his meds. He wore thick glasses and one of the last things he said to me was he only needed his glasses when he drank Vodka... He also told me a month before he died that he fell asleep on the couch and woke up 3 days later and thought he had had a diabetic coma and it scared him... well a month later he was fond on his couch, fell asleep and never woke up... Blood sugar killed the guy! After reading your story made me think of my best friend Steve. Please find a free clinic or something but see a doc and get some help with the drink my friend.... My buddy Steve also shared with me just before he died that he had gone back to Church and Jesus was "real" to him so I at least know I will see my friend again... |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 430524 United States 08/28/2016 07:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | You could have severe candida overgrowth from the alcohol,at the extreme, yeast overgrowth patterns many symptoms of various 'diseases'. You could have hep, advanced stage Cirrhosis (can cause weakness, loss of appetite, easy bruising, yellowing of the skin (jaundice), itching, and fatigue). Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) also causes some of your symptoms especially dizziness/fainting and as you mentioned diabetes. Also radiation poisoning has some of your symptoms I would have a series of blood work tests and a general go over. The alcohol is just making you worse and damaging you. |

It also happens when your blood sugar drops and you get very shaky. The alcohol is not helping your situation. Get a glucose meter and check your blood sugar. The normal range should be anywhere from 70-120 (well 70-90 if you are not Diabetic). I am Type 1 Question everything |
