The heads have been removed by the veterinary authorities of the county to test for a disease that is unrelated to the event. Heads have been moved by helicopters to a university lab for the testing.

The rock formation at the site shows where the lightning struck, and most likely they were victims of their own fear behavior, where they will stick together very closely when confronted with danger. They will also seek higher altitudes, which in this case made them more likely to be struck by the lightning.

A heard of wet reindeer sticking together will be very conductive, so if hit directly be a lightning bolt, the current is free to move without much resistance. We are talking about 30000+ ampere currents that will kill instantly.

Sounds like ET activity...lets just be happy they aren't killing humans...yet...

The neurological illness has killed portions of elk herds in North America, including in Colorado, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Oklahoma, South Dakota and parts of Canada."
