Keraunoparalysis, a temporary paralysis after lightning injury that may last for minutes to hours, may keep even healthy individuals from escaping their home as the overhead thatch, ignited by lightning, burns and falls on them.[22]

Clearly a troll. Have people not seen the film Trollhunter?
The funny thing is, troll hunter is a black comedy that almost semi-seriously mocks this kind of thing, where animals are killed by trolls but these deaths are covered up by the Norwegian government and put down to other things like bears.
So, kind of ironic when 300+ reindeer are killed, and all their heads are taken for some sort of analysis.
