Sure, it provides comfort and performance, but... It flatters your driving skills and some day you will push too far trusting the driving aids. It's eminently hackable. Even US military drones get hacked and retail comms will never be at the same level. It will eventually result in real time tracking of vehicles and driving habits. No need for speed traps, DUI checkpoints or cops watching for reckless driving. The car itself will watch how you drive, or analyze the alcohol content from the air, and report back on any violations, or - when the autonomous cars become ubiquitous - manual driving will be made illegal. Wow, sounds more like riding on a train, lol They're now openly talking about installing black boxes and limiters on cars. The black box would be audited once per year during the legally mandatory vehicle inspection (or by the cops on the road) and evidence of speeding, for intance, will be reported to the police. Trucks already have limiters (90 km/h on the speedometer, i.e. about 88 km/h in real life speed) and now the idea is to have limiters in smaller cars, too. The limit's going to be somewhere around 130 km/h because the highest legal speed in Finland is 120 km/h. The legislation would be retroactive in the sense that the owners of older cars (IIRC, 2004 and later) would be legally compelled to install the necessary electronics at their own expense. It's part of the drive to force people to upgrade into newer models, too. Steaks are high Tomato plants are in Family is shaved It has begined |

Bet your ass that they don't care about you, it's not one of their military fighter planes for them to care about. You'll see me in a driverless car when im in the coffin |
