Minnesota

After nearly 14 inches of rain fell in Waseca County, Minnesota, in a 48-hour period, nearly all roads are either washed out or impassable, the Waseca County Sheriff's Office reported. Officials are advising that people in the area refrain from unnecessary travel until the water recedes.

Not a bad idea for a thread, GFG.
'Tis the season for 'anomalies' of all kinds, so why not keep an eye on weather events? We've seen some bizarre activity the past couple of years, no doubt. Besides, updates can be useful to those people in affected areas during severe events.
I'll pitch in what I can :)

Thursday A.M.

The Twin Cities and southeast Minnesota are recovering from a deluge of rain that fell overnight, with motorists abandoning their vehicles as streets flooded particularly in the north metro area.

The flash flood warning ended in the Twin Cities at 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, by which time more than 10 inches of rain had fallen in some areas including Maple Grove.

Flash floods in AZ are no joke. Last year I read "over the edge, death in the grand canyon". Amazing book, and the chapter on flash floods is worth the price of the book.

I hope everyone stays safe. We had a 100 year flash flood Aug 28th and still haven't got back to "normal" yet here in SW Pennsylvania. Every time I see rain I start to panic now.

Dunno about crazy, that's the region of axial seamount and it has had pretty expansive magma flows within the last few years... upwards of 127 meters thick.

The crazy lightning strikes called sprites are the weirdest thing for me! I've never seen anything like it and I don't think it was something people years ago saw in the skies either....or I could be wrong but it's scary!

A town called "Hilldale" and a tornado in Utah? That's like "Hillvally" from Back to the Future and Wizard of Oz mixed together.
