you people need to learn that there are TWO components to an earthquake. Not just the magnitude, but also the depth.

anything under 70km deep is significant.

70-300 is less so. anything more than 300 KM deep requires a very high magnitude to be significant. 6.0 over 300 km deep is irrelevant... and these were 600 KM DEEP.

read the earthquake alert thread. higher depth INCREASES the risk of follow ups with less of a depth.
