One of my theories is that society as a whole is becoming more irrational and chaotic as we make our approach towards greater equilibrium.

What are some examples you have of society going about things completely differently (in a crazy or irrational way) than 20 years ago?

Here's my example:

1998: Bill Clinton impeached for lying to Congress about his own 'congress' with his intern, as well as obstruction of justice.

The world was appalled to hear details of the sordid affair, as well as details of his sexual assaults and other sexual encounters.

He left the White House in disgrace. Publicly known corruption level: Moderate

On the social plane, a man hugging a woman (e.g., a co-worker) or a teacher hugging a student, or students hugging each other were non-issues.

Today: The same impeached President has a very real chance of getting back into the White House through his wife, the former First Lady, who has also lied to both Congress and the FBI on multiple occasions, recently (and is getting away with it). Further, even though there is a very real chance she will be impeached the first year in office (a long and expensive process), the candidacy is still seen as most viable.

Publicly known corruption level: Off the charts

On the social plane, mere words like "hello" can be equated to actual sexual harassment, even rape. However, the same kinds of people who cry "rape" over normal social behaviour have no problem ignoring and defending actual rape and sexual assault by others.

To what seems like many millions of people, actually raping and sexually harassing someone is not as bad as flirting or being friendly with that person. (However, if the people doing it is one of their own, all of this behaviour is ignored.)

It has been a cultural reboot of the 1990's for well over a year now. My guess is the cog in that part of the machine began to spin in its far reaching capacity as soon as the inner political circles knew Hillary would be running in 2016.

Hell, perhaps 2 years now.

I've felt this cultural da'ja'vois in many areas. Most notably would be fashion and beauty. A multi-billion dollar industry tied in with other multi-billion dollar industries such as music, movies, tv and lifestyle.

It's been like reliving the 90's all over again but "perfected" by the standards of those in power. Not good for the average you and me...but good for those who stood by and whored themselves out to the ideals of the decade.

Girl Power then is Feminism Movement today

Multi Culti was trendy then. Today it's offensive not to embrace it.

Big booty hos then were black. Today it's the standard of beauty in Internet culture.

The hair and the clothes is just cruel and ridiculous. Acid wash and biker shorts need to be left in the past.

So should waterfall bangs and teased sides but the Kardashians are resurrecting that turd.

All for the hopes of another Clinton in the White House.

By the people with the most wealth of course. Probably some of Hilary Clinton's donors. Most of them are not even in the system anymore they are so powerful and wealthy. Think about it, some of the poorest people disappear off the system like at the other end of the spectrum some of those most wealthy do as well. they are just as inaccessible, cant look them up in the phone book like you or I! lol. ftw. The question is, would we do the same thing if we were them?

Have you ever tried to manage a group of people for school or work? Chaos and confusion abound. People seem naturally disinclined to do much at all if many others are involved. They become lazy and listless. Group intelligence actually decreases the more people work together. Now imagine trying to manage a group of people without a common purpose, on a global scale.

Is this the system that was thrust upon us, or one that we have (in a way) chosen because it is the one that best manages people today?
