He assumes a 12% savings interest rate. LOL!!! Who gets that guaranteed? You're lucky if you get a 5% savings rate.

In an interview with reporters after revealing the three concept cars, GM Vice Chairman Bob Lutz said it currently was unlikely that GM will build any of the triplet concepts for sale in the United States, unless there was a dramatic prolonged increase in fuel prices or an "unforeseen" change in fashion for small cars here. He also said the vehicles could be priced starting at $10,000 and could be built in either China or India. All of the triplets would get in the high 40 or 50 mile per gallon fuel economy range.

what I read is that GM is pushing this car as fast as they can..

We have a very strong focus on small cars in the current and future portfolio for the U.S.," Lutz said last week. "The real question is will we build these types of vehicles in the U.S.? Historically, these types of cars haven't done well here. But clearly, things are changing."

This central site allows you to request a free credit file disclosure, commonly called a credit report, once every 12 months from each of the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies: Equifax, Experian and TransUnion.

DAR SHE BLOWS!
by Peter Degraaf
June 15, 2007

Crude oil broke out from beneath major resistance on Thursday. This resistance has held the price back for the past nine months. In doing so it has created a very bullish technical picture. (See chart below). Whether you believe in ‘peak oil’ or not, the fact of the matter is that supply, (estimated at 84.5 million barrels) and demand, (estimated at 84 million barrels), does not leave much room for disruptions.

I agree with this.

I never buy anything "new". I purchase many things through classified ads that are barely 1-2 years old and get them for 1/3 the price. I haven't purchased a new car in 25 years and probably never will.

Tip. You can buy refurbished laptops through "computer rental" businesses that run fine and are updated with the newest software. They will often offer you an extended warranty.

You are a real "Piece of work" Paladine.

Trying to sucker others to "invest" their money into your playground (Stock Market).

I wouldn't put one penny into that game unless I fully knew and UNDERSTOOD all the risks and possibilities which I don't and am not interested in learning.

You are simply trying to lure other (suckers) into your game.

Re: want to drive a new car....FREE.......get out of DEBT
I just could never see the logic in buying a brand new car that seriously depreciates the minute you drive it off the lot. I've always bought used, and payed cash.
 Quoting: Evil Twin

I'm with you man, that's why I don't have creditors on me like most people do. The car I'm driving now was in excellent shape when I bought it and so was the previous one, but prior to those two my usual way was to find a car I liked, buy it cheap for cash, pay a mechanic to go over the whole car and make it completely functional, then throw some cool wheels on it, maybe new tires, maybe new upholstery, maybe a new paint job. I like cars, and I like them better when I OWN them and my money "personalized" them just for me.

Re: want to drive a new car....FREE.......get out of DEBT
Nice post. I've been debating buying a new 2009 Toyota corolla with the intention of driving it until it dies, which in the case of Toyotas, is a very long time.

I have the cash to pay it off now, but would probably finance to pay off in a year. Assuming I trade in my 8 year old pontiac grand am for $1000 or $2000 (it needs a couple thousand in maintenance too including new tires, etc.) I'd be looking at paying $16-17k after taxes. I'd get it paid off in 12-15 months tops.

Assuming it's not totaled or anything (I live in low crime, laid back, low population area) I think the investment would be good over buying used and worrying about future problems with the car. Of course if I hit a deer and ended up only getting a depreciated value from the insurance company, I'd be somewhat screwed if I had to buy a new car again given how well I take care of my vehicles.

very true, nobody's going to be getting no 12 percent annualized for a very long time, probably a decade or more.. the best they can hope for is perhaps 8% with some of the best oil and natural gas trusts, after taxes.

I can see the argument of not wanting to "accumulate" wealth for "retirement" .... a simple illness or other disaster could suddenly cost you everything you've worked so hard to accumulate... however when one is in debt and a disaster occurs one loses nothing.. and in most cases will still get, for example, their medical care taken care of.

There's just less stress having to worry about protecting assets... contrarily, there's less stress being debt free as well. I'd rather have a modest net worth then be in debt... to me that's slavery.
