They'll never let us do this again. This was weighing on my heart yesterday pretty hard. Expect legislation for what the Internet is for. Expect it won't be a place where we can all question the powers that be. We might take it away from them this time if we're lucky, the election. But make no mistake, it won't happen again. Internet will be more like cable TV. I don't have a link so I do kind of stink. Does anyone else agree that they can't let us keep the Internet the way it is? Discuss. They can't stop it as it is currently. The best they can hope to do is to block everything and filter people into 'pre-approved' websites such as facebook. GCHQ are developing/have developed a DNS firewall to filter sites. I think there was some mention of wanting to apply licenses to people who have websites too.

It is actually to their advantage to keep it, for obvious reasons. People will find other ways to communicate if the net goes down. It would take a lot of man power to oversee the various aspects of life that the net is involved in, if it did not exist in its current form. Looking at the bright side though, there would be more gubment jobs being created to replace it.
