The properties of essences goes way beyond the snippets of info you can find on most websites and books though. Yes, aspen is indicated where fears of unknown origin are involved, but it's for a lot more than that. The fears themselves arise due to a leakage of subconscious material and sensing more than one can psychologically digest.

Aspen (and essences in general) work through the energy centers / meridians and Aspen works to align the system such that there is a balance in how the mind assimilates subconscious material. The fact that you heard an evil voice saying, next your other eye indicates to me that you are sensitive and open to non-physical realities. Aspen helps to balance this aspect within us.

its my root chakra i think. basic fear of parents. im incredibly nervous right now and i dont really know why. im all shaking and shivering. not usually like this.

I prefer silver to gold myself. Silver does enhance the receptive side, but it is healing to the emotions too. Gold can be too intense sometimes and carries a lot of accumulated thought-forms just due to it's nature as a coveted metal.

Gold does strengthen the male aspect and is a 'noble' metal but I find it irritating at times and can't even wear it. White gold is better for me though.

Jade is good. You might find pyrite can help ground you and make the physical aspect of living more bearable. It tends to smooth out practical issues, partly due to it's cubic crystal structure. Salt works similarly and is also cubic.

Best all purpose IMO is clear quartz natural crystal. Helps the mind and thought processes balance out and can act as a bridge for mind/body interface... try mentally coursing healing energy through a crystal into an affected body part. There is usually a quick response and improvement (like lessening pain or quicker healing).
