I am hoping, I started hoping with nothing to place the hope on after reading a little about it earlier. This is at least something to put your hope on. It is worth hoping for. His views on the referendum result the day after. At about 1.25 he says the result is not consultative. Thanks Tess, could very well happen then. He will be one very unpopular soul if he does it though. Information is the most dangerous weapon of all ... The Lords needs replacing anyway as they only represent the elite and not the People. An electable upper house would be a powerful platform in the upcoming election. My only problem with Majority rule is that you end up with a mobrule. Where are the checks and balances in the current system. Bercow was installed as a safe option after the last speakers where discredited. Like PM the Speaker who is meant to be above influence and independent has always been dependent of the patronage of the few. Anyway none of the above may continue with selling us out like they did for fifty years. New balls please. New game. new service. |

I think it's irrelevant really, because I really can't see parliament voting against it. And if they do then they'd almost certainly be an election, and in that election UKIP and similar parties would make massive gains. |

Quoting: Lime Flavoured Redux lets hope he votes against then .and we can move to the next step .the sooner the better I am torn between the two. On one hand I want him to do it. On the other I think UKIP making big gains could also be very Interesting. Information is the most dangerous weapon of all ... As the so-called “eyes and ears” of the Commons, Mr Bercow could theoretically use his senior position to push through Brexit without a Westminster vote. Quoting: Deplorable Cybored Constitutional experts have been busy grappling with the fallout from last week’s High Court ruling that Article 50 cannot be triggered without an Act of Parliament. One theory is that senior members of the Privy Council, which include the Speaker, could overrule the judges’ decision. Less than 50. [link to www.express.co.uk] Lets hope this is true and he makes it happen. This is complete utter BS! Parliament approved a referendum vote on the matter. By what logic then do they have to approve the result of the vote? Have they no decent lawyers in the UK anymore? This should be very obvious. "Everybody lies." |
