We grew up between the two most selfish generations to ever exist. And now they seemingly outnumber us. Part of that is our fault. Finger pointing aside, What do we do about it? We understand that we all feel the same way about our world, and want to see change for the better. How about we start THERE, and talk about SOLUTIONS? My two bits, as a 40 something Gen-X'er, we need to come together as a force for positive change in this country right now to birth a new renaissance, a return to our wholesome roots and set our vision on a return to the wonderful melting pot this country once was. |

User ID: 73367462 United States 11/12/2016 11:07 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I was born in the late 60s. My son was born in the early 90s. I SAW how other parents were raising their kids and did not follow suit. I taught mine, that while I and his family loved him, he was NOT the center of the universe. He was taught a work ethic and how to deal with a tough world. I spoke to him in a normal, adult voice while all around us I had to hear adults speak to their little ones in that sing-song sugary "Mommy wubs her ittle man Here's a sticker for being you." When he was in the wrong, there were consequences and I didn't ask, "Can you share with me why you made a bad choice?" Grrrrr....... FOLKS Still-to-this-day are raising special snowflakes. As a teacher I am asked to sit and listen to why a student made a bad choice and have him explain to me how he feels about his consequences---whether or not he feels "heard" in my room. Nope, no way. I could go on and on-----I would have HOPE if I saw that we were not continuing to raise entitled kids that cry every time they are held accountable. BUT, I am just not seeing many changes in the upbringing of the ones that will inherit from millennials. PLEASE tell me that I am wrong. I want to have HOPE. Took me a long time to realize it, but He was all I ever really needed... |

Gen X is the generation bust because there are not many of us because Boomers took birth control pills to avoid having kids in their 20's instead they mainly had them when they were in their 30's and settled in their careers. |

He loves Trump, hates "hipsters and hippies" (his words, not mine), has recently felt comfortable enough around me to call Hillary supporters pussies and knows that the world does not revolve around him. Not sure who the fuck raised these 18-30 year old cry babies, but it certainly seems to have skipped a generation. If you notice on the news it's usually white people that are protesting. I'm thinking they've watched too many Netflix videos of the 60's protests and think it's cool to smoke pot, stink and hold up signs protesting things they have no idea about. Honestly, how many here leaned more liberal in their 20's, but became more conservative as you started working and watching your hard earned money go to freeloaders? |
