[ link to droughtmonitor.unl.edu] [ link to www.wral.com] I've lived in this area my entire life. Love to fish. My son and I have been walking down the creeks and stream beds we normally fish. Dry as a bone. Fires burning around the area. Bad smell of smoke over entire Huntsville area yesterday. Drove around the area yesterday from Fayetteville TN to Birmingham AL. Water is hard to find except in the big rivers and those are low. Cullman here and just got in from working at my hunting camp and while scouting for deer sign I've found dead squarels I believe have died from dehydration. Also the deer population is very skinny. We need rain bad.
