We have had a little rain here in Northern California but still not enough. It was terrible this summer and the last few years, all the big trees are stressed, then various pests strike, kill the trees and then we have fires. How are your trees doing there? We cut down the dead ones right away, got rid of the diseased wood and are praying for more rain. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 69591273 United States 11/13/2016 03:43 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Is it a drought or just way more industry, homes and people using and drinking more water? Quoting: TheToolMan Or could it be weather modification?? Do you all see a lot of chemtrail spraying in that area? Here in Tn, a lack of spraying usually results in hot, sunny days. Even in the dead of winter. As soon as spraying starts a cold front blows in and back to rain/cold weather as usual. |

Cullman here and just got in from working at my hunting camp and while scouting for deer sign I've found dead squarels I believe have died from dehydration. Also the deer population is very skinny. We need rain bad. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 73168371 United States 11/13/2016 04:31 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | As an engineer, I recognize a few things: Quoting: darth 70183558 1. Droughts and floods are normal and will strike various parts of the country at different times. 2. The world will need more and more food; therefore, the USA, which has been an agricultural leader, should have a goal to produce even more food and fiber. 3. We have the capability to move water from places that have too much, e.g., lower Mississippi Valley, to places that need water, e.g., West Texas and the high plains. I propose that we build a nationwide system of aqueducts and reservoirs to move water when we need to. Farmers and other users can pay for the projects via bonds over time from user fees. BTW, since we have natural gas in abundance, we can use that as an energy source for the pumps required. For example, the oil deposits in Alaska often have vast amounts of methane hydrate above them. Ditto the Gulf of Mexico. With a pipeline, that will create a source of natural gas for centuries. I think the first project is move massive amounts of water from East Texas to West Texas and the high plains. The soil is quite fertile in many areas, but there is insufficient water for irrigation. After that, the desert Southwest can be irrigated and, finally, California. Economies thrive on PRIMARY production such as factories, farms, mines, oil, gas, and timber. Without primary production of goods, you are stuck with low and declining wages in service economies. It is NOT possible to shut down all primary production and survive economically. Too much logic here. EPA will prevent all this. |

No rain and clear blue skies. It was nice to see the return of cumulous clouds. But no rain. Haven't seen a jet stream normal weather pattern for multiple years. Fronts are breaking up |
