Here in Panama City FL it hasn't rained more than a few drops for a month.

Heard a weatherman say it takes maybe five days of soaking rain to get back to normal, that an inch for one or two days wouldn't be nearly enough.
Yes, I did cure my Stage 4 cancer in two weeks when I was 48. I also reversed my chronic kidney disease (glomerulonephritis) when I was 25. In neither case were any medical treatments involved.

I've lived in this area my entire life. Love to fish. My son and I have been walking down the creeks and stream beds we normally fish. Dry as a bone. Fires burning around the area. Bad smell of smoke over entire Huntsville area yesterday. Drove around the area yesterday from Fayetteville TN to Birmingham AL. Water is hard to find except in the big rivers and those are low.

Yeah, it's hitting us up in TN too.

Let us fast and pray for rain -seriously. Do a water fast and pray to God through the blood of Jesus off and on all day.

What fucking drought?
My friend out there got water bottles at Walmart no problem

sad as it is,this guy is right. go figure how much water is in the stores and then the wharehouses, trucks, bottle plants, etc . enough water to fill lake erie??? that combined with the zillions of gallons fracking has "thrown away" is why we have the climate changes and droughts. go back to high school, ecology 101, life needs water. all weather relies on moisture<water>. if u take away the water, u will cause drought. what amazes me is the big shot scientists cant figure this out. they blame everything else. 30 yrs ago u did not have the voluime of liquid(soft drinks, water, energy drinks, etc) in a convenient store. if u was lucky u might have 1 cooler. now the entire back wall and sometimes half the gas stations walls are full of coolers. where did that come from??? usually farr farr away from the station u happen to b at. we are dumber than the ppl on easter island cutting down all the trees. we are throwing water our life blood away for a gallon of gas to drive to work. thats dumb. how long b4 we are fighting over the lacwell. apples trees needa cold rest to b able to produce fruit. but in the spring they need fog to protect the buds from freezing. this is why u apples grow best on hills. now how long b4 all these add to trouble for ppl???k of water or food.
lets hypotheticaLly take the great lakes n ove them to the southern hemisphere. how much loss of fishing?? how much less snow to the east coast??? how much less rain?? this will affect bird migrations, insects both good n bad, etc. it will actually badly affect apple production and grapes. let alone the lack of rain. just the lack of fog will cause many fruit trees and other plants to freeze each spring. how does that go "live today ,die tomorrow"? but should we kill the planet and the next generation????

Re: The drought is awful here in North Alabama.
Rural south central Alabama here.

They say its 'extreme' drought here, not 'exceptional' yet, but already private ponds getting very low, maybe 6' or so off high pool, with the shallower ponds running dry and full of fish-eating birds. Everything is dry and dusty and lots of stress on trees - oak leaves turning brown and curled.

Lots of burned median and shoulders along I65.

I read that the longterm weather models are predicting 5" on average through the month of December - that'll help. Our 5 acre pond is now about 3.5 acres having receded from all the shallower areas and creating a 20' ring of dry, cracked earth. Did find some bottles from the 1950's which were helpful in determining the age of the pond...something we had always wondered.

Anyways, dry and crunchy here and I expect they'll put in water controls before too long. Cant imagine the conditions further to the NE.

wow. good information. interesting. I was at our local boat landing this afternoon. At least 5 ft low. You could see the normal line of water on the rocks. People fishing were almost all the way below that water line on rocks that may never have been exposed in my lifetime.

Re: The drought is awful here in North Alabama.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in Alabama. Sounds like the I 65 fire was intentionally set. Hard to imagine someone doing that.

Figured things must be getting really bad down there. Have some property well south of most of you and there are no fires at this point, but the guy who watches out for things called and told me how bad it was up north and wanted the ok to remove a couple trees and some shrubs around the house if things got worse, or if fires broke out there. He knows how I love those trees and wouldn't ask if it wasn't a real threat.

Guess the pond that is filled by a spring in the woods is still doing fine, and like the kind person in Tx. who put out water pans for the wildlife, the caretaker is going to make sure the pond stays up or some watering system is put in for the wildlife.

How are the people in the north part dealing with lifestock feeding and watering? They selling off animals, or having big problems?

Stay safe and healthy everyone. Time and nature can take care of many things.

Middle Georgia here. It hasn't rained here for 2 months. It's a dust bowl here. I have to water every day. The 2 hurricanes sucked up all our moisture and took it north.

Please let it rain.

Until we become a Christian Nation once again many more bad things will happen.....Our first task will be to remove all Muslims from our land.....Lets pray for President elect Mr. Trump to start doing a CLEAN SWEEP...

STOP them before it is too late! Their holy book clearly states to kill everyone other than them. These people have not seen any other religion and are so closed minded. In Canada, i witnessed, many Muslim men have multiple women and each woman has more than 5 kids.. what a shame on our system... surprisingly, Canadian goverment pays for each kid and these men are collecting over 20k by having multiple wives and making kids ... they work on cash on the side as well... what a shame!!! STOP this non-sense before system goes bankrupt.

Drought having severe impact on Alabama ranchers

WALKER COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — The drought is having a devastating impact on many farmers and ranchers. Some say this drought could cost some ranchers their livelihoods..............

What little water is left isn’t enough. Wade says there is only one creek left with a trickle of water. One of the creeks on his property he’s never seen run dry............

“There’s a lot of lot of decisions that can be made and most of them are not good,” Wade sighed.

There are a number of resources for farmers and ranchers during the drought. Visit the Alabama Cooperative Extension Service Drought website.

The smoke from the wildfires is so bad tonight that combined with the fog, we have areas of zero visibility. Even a NWS alert warning about it.

I have two air filters going and this area closed off from the rest of the house and still the smell is overpowering.

Eyes burning, asthma acting up, terrible headache and the smell is very strong.

I thought we had technology for seeding clouds decades ago. We have not had rain in over two months and are in exceptional drought here. The wind must be bringing it right down the river on us now.

No rain forecast for the foreseeable future.
