Dreams -- anyone have an interesting one lately? Here's one of mine that I posted in my Tekwanago thread back in early October. The dream itself took place on October 3rd or 4th. Almost forgot to post this!
Early this week (Monday or Tuesday morning) I awoke from a dream about a BIG earthquake. Details first, analysis after.
My husband and I were driving in a car along the highway when the ground shook and the concrete overpasses broke apart and came tumbling down. Shocked, we kept going, eventually ended up on foot, to see what the problem was. After a time, we rounded a corner and found a cubby / office set up in a concrete structure that may have been a pile from the concrete highway falling down where we found a geologist with a table set up in front of her, and computer monitors lit up, etc, and my friend Amy.
We asked if it was an earthquake and they said Yes! and was Houston the epicenter? No. Are there more coming? Yes! (empahtic yes). Then I turned around to leave, to head back to our car. My husband asked what I was doing and I told him I was going back to DFW because there was no way I was going to leave my daughter alone if something even bigger were coming soon.
Then I woke up.
I know in the dream that we were in Houston and not DFW because my friend Amy lives in Houston. I understood that the epicenter was not there, but was likely in the New Madrid Fault Zone. I decided to head back to DFW because I knew if something strong enough to knock over concrete overpass structures in Houston wasn't the 'end' of the earthquakes, that probably the 'big one' hadn't occurred yet. I got the feeling that this might occur in the month of February? 2018 or 2019? Well into Trump's presidency.
Quoting: tandym The thing that is interesting to me, and also very sad, is that I just found out recently (a couple of days ago) that this same friend, Amy, tried to commit suicide in the month of October (probably on or around the same time as the dream took place, but I don't have all the information yet). She survived, her husband made her check into a rehab clinic for a month, and when she got out, she sent a few of us an email telling us what happened. She is keeping her head down though and isn't responding to emails or phone calls since, though I am going to actively try to get her to come out of her shell if I can. I feel it's important for her to know she is loved and accepted, with or without the depression and alcoholism. Lot's of drama going on there. Anyways, I found it interesting and surprising in a sad way, that I could have seen this kind of event in my dream and either misinterpreted it so badly, or (more likely) failed to see the additional layer of meaning in the dream. I plan to tell Amy about it when I get a chance to send her another email. I wonder what she will think about it. :-( Clearly she had an earth shattering event happening in her life and I wonder if I had clued in earlier, could I have interrupted the momentum that brought her to the point of trying to take her life? Anyone else care to share? I'm sorry to hear about your friend Amy and I think it is amazing (and very like you!) to continue to reach out to her and not let her drift away. I think it's also important for her to know she is loved and accepted as well as supported. Sounds like she may be feeling embarrassed and things probably seem pretty bleak to her. Sad. :-( She's lucky to have you! I think she will find that dream very interesting. It's not easy to interpret dreams and even harder to pinpoint what kind of event the dream may be about, if it is indicating something that could come to pass. Because she was in the dream so prominently I can totally understand how you'd struggle with not telling her earlier but like I said, it's next to impossible to pinpoint what dreams are REALLY about. Next time you have a dream that involves a friend, probably you will pay attention to it and know how to analyze it and interpret it in a new way and that is a positive lesson. Lately I've had very peaceful sleep and I've been falling asleep very fast, almost right after laying down, which is nice. I did have a dream last night about Niamh and I think some of you (or all of you). (Niamh, are you listening?) Niamh was in a dark green robe and she had wild red hair pinned up. She had the hood of the cloak up and she was telling me an Irish legend of some sort. It was night time, and there was a large central fire. We were outside. We were all sitting around it but I couldn't see the rest of you, just sort of sense you. Niamh was gesturing and telling this very grand story as only Niamh can. Except I can't remember what the story was! Hopefully when Niamh comes around, she will remember what she said in my dream :-P
