So my 10 year old has a friend over.
I had set everything out to make the cakes - so the butter would soften, etc.
I fell sound asleep with my 5 year old earlier tonight when she started whining.
Rather than waking me, my 10 year old and her friend decided to make the calkes themselves, so I could rest they said.
I just woke up to the smell of the cakes cooking.
They had the oven on 300 instead of 350, and they couldn't find the baking powder so they googled and used brown sugar instead they swear it will work.
They made two cups of pink icing and one cup of aqua.
The cakes have about 20 minutes to go.
I'm still half asleep, and I'm glad they didn't burn the house down. The one recipe called for boiling water so that's a little scary but my daughters friend says she has to boil water all the time for her mom ...
They put the barbie cake in a stainless steel mixing bowl rather than the pyrex batter bowl so we'll see.
They lots the cap to the heavy cream.
I can't get mad though, they made my cakes, it seems.
They are so cute sitting at the table waiting for the timer to ring again, lol.
