Few at first, I think. It will take another generation and a civil war there before people can go back and start a life. Those that fled during the revolution are too old and do not care any more about their old lives there. There are way too many people there now who will fight over land and property rights, having been denied these basic rights for so long. They will not take kindly to people coming back and asserting rights over long ago abandoned lives/property/etc. Cuba is not a florida paradise with an infrastructure that supports old Americans well at all. The income/saving inequity will permit investments, but there will be a whole horde of lawyers involved for a long long time, I think. Exploitation will occur, and big business/mafia will again make it a destination. Basically a third world country with some great resources to exploit. Canada and Europe have been doing a lot of background bargaining for years - I'm sure there are some who can identify this - the US may find it's behind the 8 ball on investments there, until they muscle back in. It's going to be messy. Raul needs to go next, I think. He's a weak leader anyhow - someone is supporting him at this point anyhow - I think many people were waiting on Castro to go, not realizing it's the regime and people behind him truly handling the politics and economy. It's a rats nest for sure. |

Hope that Rubio makes a bee-line for Cuba and stays. Texas has yet to learn submission to any oppression, come from what source it may.
