He used to host a bluegrass radio show on the station I work for. You're gonna stand there, ownin' a fireworks stand, and tell me you don't have no whistlin' bungholes, no spleen splitters, whisker biscuits, honkey lighters, hoosker doos, hoosker don'ts, cherry bombs, nipsy daisers, with or without the scooter stick, or one single whistlin' kitty chaser? |

Lester User ID: 22195382 United States 12/12/2016 04:01 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Grew up hearing The Weavers albums and American Folk Standards like Barbara Allen.... Bought the first NRPS album in 72, Glendale Train etc, and John Prine, JJ Cale Naturally, & Gram Parsons in 73. Almost forgot the timeless, Will The Circle Be Unbroken... Blue Grass? Old and In The Way, The Dillards, Seldom Scene, Byron Berline, Doc Watson, Emmi Lou Harris... Have to include Workingman's Dead in the genre. Summer of 71 Timeless and Great. Really loved Bob Wills and The Texas Palyboys... Deep within my heart lies a melody, a song of old San Antone. Magical era for music Americana, from 72-78. Outlaws, country rock, Tracy Nelson, Townes Van Zandt, Much of it came from Hank Williams and his Luke The Drifter recordings. Grand Ole Opry legends, Western music of the 30s... |
